Taxpayer Revolt Leader Terri Hall

To Speak at Nov. 15 SRW Meeting

Picture

Terri Hall, founder and director of the San Antonio Toll Party and Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom, will speak at the Star Republican Women's Nov. 15 meeting at Quail Point Community Center.

The program will begin at 1 p.m., following a complimentary lunch that starts at 12:30 p.m.

Terri Hall founded the San Antonio TOLL Party in 2005 as a taxpayer revolt when she learned the Texas Dept of Transportation (TxDOT) was to convert her only access to San Antonio, Hwy 281, into a tollway, which is a double tax to charge taxpayers again for what they've already built and paid for. When she saw this shift to tolling our existing freeways happening nationwide, Terri started a statewide group called Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom or Texas TURF in 2007.

She's a homeschool mom of ten turned citizen activist, and Terri has rallied her fellow Texans to stop this runaway taxation, as well as the Trans Texas Corridor-style foreign takeover of our public highways. Such monopolies over our infrastructure result in tolls over $3/mile to use our public roads.

Terri has worked as a citizen activist in nine sessions of the Texas Legislature, spoken at rallies in Washington D.C., organized marches in Austin, spoken at national conferences, appeared on the Lou Dobbs Show, CNN's American Morning, MSNBC and Fox News nationally, and done local radio & TV interviews all over Texas. She also wrote for the Examiner, was a citizen blogger for the San Antonio Express-News, and continues to have many columns published by news outlets nationwide.

Texas TURF is an all-volunteer, all grassroots organization committed to defending property rights and our freedom to travel. They helped repeal the Trans Texas Corridor, defeated dozens of bad bills in the Legislature, advocated against the Left’s anti-car agenda, and passed protections against tolling existing roads among other reforms. She invites you to learn more and to join the fight at www.TexasTURF.org.

Pray & Continue the Fight!

Before the election I was writing my article for this newsletter:

Reality is Here!!  For someone who is usually overly wordy, I only have two important words for Star Republican Women and actually four letters each.  The order cannot be underestimated:  Nov. 2, 2022. . . PRAY & VOTE!  Stay in HIS grip!!!  Fight the fight with compassion, and I will see you on the other side.  PRAY & VOTE!!!

One day after the election, my message is almost the same:  Pray and continue the fight against Critical Race Theory and sexualization of our children through graphics in libraries and schools.  We cannot defeat Babylonian culture but we can influence Babylonian politics on our knees and at the polls.  You did that Llano County!

SRW to Co-Host 2nd Annual Veterans Luncheon Set for Nov. 11 at Quail Point

SRW will join the Horseshoe Bay POA in hosting the Second Annual Veterans Day Luncheon, Friday, November 11 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Quail Point Lodge.

The POA decided to honor this holiday and provide their employees with the day off.  Therefore, the larger Lake Room will be available that day for the sole use of the luncheon, allowing us to honor even more veterans than last year.

With expansion, our needs and costs will also increase.  To meet the needs of growth for this honorary event, SRW asked our members for monetary and volunteer support.  For the safety of our Veterans, all food items will be purchased instead of donated this year.  Monetary support will go towards food costs, and sponsors will be visibly recognized via signage in the event room.

Thanks to all who have volunteered to help set up and decorate, assist participating Veterans and clean up. And thanks to those who donated to help pay for the food items.

We thank you for your donations and time, and especially your show of appreciation to the fine folks who served to protect the freedoms of Our Great Country.

Sherry Olson, Caring for America Committee Chairman
