August 10, 2017 To Our Valued Parents: On behalf of the entire Camp Bedstuy staff, we would like to thank you for your continued support and interest in our objective of ensuring that youth throughout the community engage in exceptional summer camp experiences, where they can participate in creative activities and develop life-long skills. Although there have been recent hurdles along the way, it is my hope that you continue to build with us in our quest to maintain quality service for youth in our community. We want you to know that the questions you may have concerning recent allegations against Camp Bedstuy have not gone unnoticed. Although the media has used this time to attempt to tarnish the work that we have worked so hard build, it is vital that we continue to press on. In lieu of this, we are in the process of rebuilding, and we will be reaching out to all of you in the coming days to provide new dates and times to connect with you on a more personalized level. As you are aware, Camp Bedstuy is devoted to delivering exceptional service to youth in the neighborhood, whom we proudly serve, and will continue to embody the characteristics of civility, friendship, and community. We ask that as valued parents of the youth we serve, that you continue to support this organization, as we navigate this process. All trips and camp services have been cancelled until next week. We aim to progress as a collective, and with your help, our goals of empowering youth in the neighborhood, will continue to flourish.
