Balancing the Daily

Walking Routine

August brings wild fires on the West Coast, smoke is in the air, producing wild and beautiful skies. Should you still go out and walk? This depends on air quality and your general health

Air Quality: Check your local air quality at a local air-quality site. Here are some links for the West Coast:

California:

Your health: Do you have a lung condition, asthma or other? Do you have a heart condition and don’t need more stress on your body’s engine? Do you have diabetes and have a delicate chemical body balance? Are you allergic to air-pollutants? If you factor in your general health and don’t want to exercise in a gym, you can wear a mask if you walk outdoors. Mask N-90 or N-100 will filter small particles IF the mask is well-fitted. These masks are available at your local hardware store.

Life is a balancing act: So is your (daily???) walking routine.

Unusual Places to Walk

I took a walk in this cemetery; it's easy to walk a couple of miles while pondering what happened here. Besides walking in a cemetery I have walked in a labyrinth, a train yard, an abandoned mine, a cave, a glacier. Have you walked in an unusual place? Share on Facebook page WalkingWomen50plus.
