Now accepting cover art for the PV Schools Directory

The Portola Valley Schools Student Directory is perhaps the highest-circulation publication of local origin, and its release each fall is surrounded with considerable excitement and glamour. It's an invaluable local resource, highlighting the generosity and diversity of local businesses, providing essential information on our schools, and enabling the social lives of our children.

We like to feature the work of an up-and-coming local artist on the cover. We are inviting Ormondale and Corte Madera Students, from rising kindergartners through emerging eighth graders, to send in their cover designs. We'll choose one to be this year's cover. The winner's family will receive a complimentary copy of the directory, suitable for autographing.

The cover format is standard letter size, 8.5" x 11", portrait orientation, in color.

Please include the artist's name, grade level for the upcoming school year, and parent's name

KINDER RECESS VOLUNTEER!

Help supervise Kinder Recess this year! Great way to check in with your child during the day. Choose a day: 10:15-10:35am. Contact Kit Antovich​ to sign up.

ART IN ACTION VOLUNTEER - for Mrs. Grech's 2nd grade class and all 3rd Grade classes!

Just need a few more volunteers! Once a month, help teach your child's class a pre-designed art lesson, set up materials and clean up after. A great way to get to know your child's teacher and their class. (Need one sign up per class). Contact Sarah Vincenzo or Kit Antovich or sign up HERE!

LUNCH/RECESS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We are still in need of volunteers for ORM 1st-3rd grade lunch service and supervision. It's a wonderful opportunity to support the Program and a great way to connect with and be a part of the students' experience in Ormondale.

BACK TO SCHOOL BBQ!

Who is ready to celebrate the return of school and back in a routine? Join the ORM community at the Back to School BBQ on Friday September 5th with a barbecue catered by the BBQ Boys! 

The PTO will provide the main course of BBQ chicken, burgers and hotdogs along with the plates, napkins, cups and utensils. 

Families bring a dish to share such as a side, salad or fruit for dessert (please no sweets and all dishes must be nut-free!). Please make sure you bring a serving utensil with your dish. Water will be provided but feel free to bring other non-alcoholic beverages for your family to enjoy and don't forget your picnic blanket! Labeled dishes will be accepted from 3:00 - 5:00 on the 1st-3rd grade blacktop.

Please remind children to leave scooters, skateboards, razors and other ride-on toys at home. They will not be allowed at the event.

CMS HOT LUNCH PROGRAM

Helping out with the hot lunch program is a GREAT way to touch base on campus and visit with the kids, staff and other volunteers. Please consider signing up for one of the daily slots by contacting Veronica Jerng ([email protected]) or signing up online.

New Family Watermelon Welcome

Last Sunday, several Ormondale and Corte Madera families turned up at the Town Centre to welcome some new faces to PVSD.  It was great to see our kids share some watermelon, meet some new friends and help allay some of the those new school jitters for the new children joining us at PVSD this year.  Welcome to our new families!

CMS BACK TO SCHOOL PICNIC

Mark your calendars for Friday, September 13th, 5:30 to 7:00 pm

It’s time to kick off the school year with food, friends, and some fun! Please join us for the annual Back to School BBQ on September 13th from 5:30-7:00 at the middle school lunch tables. We’ll have plenty of burritos, chips, salsa, & guac from local favorite, Amigo’s.  Please bring a side dish or sweet treat to share.

We do need some volunteers to help put on this event, please consider giving as little as a half hour to help things run smoothly.

4th & 5th Grade cocoa breakfast

Friday, August 30th at 7:30 am

4th and 5th grade families mark you calendars for the first cocoa breakfast of the year! Kids will enjoy the traditional bagels, hot cocoa and whipped cream. Parents please feel free to join and visit also!!
