Jar O' Ojas
This recipe is a winner from Kate O'Donnell's Everyday Ayurveda Guide to Self-Care. Not only does it build ojas, but is considered an aphrodisiac and is used in Ayurveda as a rasayana, for rejuvenation of the deepest bodily tissues.
Ingredients:
2 pinches saffron thread
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cardamom
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 cup ghee
1 1/2 cups pitted dates cut into halves

- Use a mortar and pestle to grind the saffron into a fine powder. Mix in the other ground spices.
- Warm the ghee in a saucepan at a low heat until liquid and add the spice mixture.
- Pack the dates tightly into a clean and dry 16 oz. mason jar.
- Pour the spiced ghee over the dates. Put on the lid and shake well.
- Let the dates soak for at least a day before enjoying. Store at room temperature up to 3 months. So so good!
