Mentoring Opportunity for Small Firms | |

Using the PROBE benchmarking tool, each ETB area will work with 10 small firms as outlined in the slide below.This project is being offered through funding received from Skills to Advance; SOLAS Innovation through Collaboration Call for Funding 2019.

Speaking this morning (6 March 2020), Chambers Ireland President Siobhan Kinsella says, “The best way for Ireland to remain competitive and sustainable as an economy is through the empowerment of all of the talent and skills at our disposal. Central to this, we need to see more action to support those who want to be part of the workplace. The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office reveal that female labour force participation is still significantly lower at 56.6%, compared to 69% for men. Although this figure has somewhat improved in the last number of years, labour participation for women in Ireland is still well below the EU average.

The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation (DBEI) is co-ordinating a study of management skills and practices within Irish SMEs. This is an important study which will inform the range of future supports and services offered to SMEs throughout Ireland.
Skillnet Ireland is represented on the Steering Committee overseeing this work, which is supported by the European Commission and is being undertaken by Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin).
County Tipperary Skillnet would encourage businesses in the Tipperary region to support this research by completing this online questionnaire which will take no longer than 15 minutes.
Input will secure a strong response from SMEs to support this valuable research.
