FREE LIVE ONLINE CODING WORKSHOP
LEARN TO CODE AT HOME WITH FUZE4 NINTENDO SWITCH

FUZE are very excited to announce that their first, live and online, Learn-to-Code workshop is taking place this Tuesday the 2nd of June at 2pm at youtube.com/fuzearena

The first, in what is expected to become a regular series, introduces three basic principles of coding. Loops, Variables and If Then statements are fundamental pillars of all programming languages.

FUZE explains and demonstrates these in a very accessible, fun and light-hearted manner. In just one session we aim to demystify what is generally, and very mistakenly, perceived to be a complex subject accessible only to uber geeks and mathmagicians!

“Is this for me – what do I get out of it?”

Coding represents a major part of the UK's Computing Curriculum now taught across all Key Stages. At a student level, anyone from age 7 up will benefit from a rudimentary understanding of the basic principles, and older age groups starting secondary later this year, will be better prepared for what Computer Science has in store for them.

Many young adults looking at career options may well not have considered coding because their school ‘missed the boat’ or were turned off the subject because it was perceived as too complicated or, and is often the reason cited, ‘boring’.

For parents and grandparents who’d like to keep up with their child’s learning, will also benefit from the workshop, and as such are highly recommended to take part – even if just to watch and listen.

FUZE uses videogame programming techniques to teach coding. Video games are obviously a great way to engage young, and not-so-young, minds and are of course great fun. As we all know, an engaging and fun environment can accelerate learning, and because the epiphanic moments are frequent, enthusiasm and motivation are all increased also.

“I don’t have a Nintendo Switch or FUZE, can I still do it?”

Yes. The workshops are very informative and everything is explained with the absolute beginner in mind. They are also very visual, as programs and their results are shown on screen at all times.

Viewers can even ask questions via live chat!

“Ok, I’m sold, how do I see this?”
