April 10 | 2023 EARTH DAY CELEBRATION Saturday, April 22 | 11:00am - 2:00pm Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to complete the survey last week. We really appreciate your time. If you would still like to answer a few anonymous questions to help us get to know you better, please find the survey on our website here . We are so excited for our Earth Day Event! Sometimes one of the best ways to take care of the planet is to start with our own health. When we are aware of what we are putting in and on our bodies, the types of products we are buying, the companies we are supporting and their values, and the everyday decisions we make, we inherently become more aware of how our individual impact makes a big difference. An easy way to make better choices for the planet is making better choices for yourself and your family. There can be short- and long-term negative consequences to what we call "convenience", and often making a better choice is not a big adjustment and might actually save you money. GREEN COMPASS NC This year we are partnering with Green Compass (GC) for our Earth Day Event. GC is a North Carolina woman-owned and founded company that produces Certified Organic hemp products. Their products are the result of a mother searching for natural alternatives to "traditional" medicines, and every one of their items are 100% traceable to the exact spot on the farm where the plant was grown. Representatives from GC will be available to help you learn more about this holistic way to self-care for you, your family, and your pets. LOCAL HOLISTIC HEALTH PROFESSIONALS Local holistic health professionals will be present at our event to offer insightful alternative ways for self-care. Specific details on who will be attending will be provided next week. Image: Clark College DIY HERB GARDENS As you may have seen when visiting the store, we have pre-made herb gardens available for purchase. During our Earth Day Celebration, you will have the opportunity to get your hands dirty and build your own! We have a variety of different sized containers depending on your needs. Don't want to build your own? We will still have pre-made herb gardens available for purchase. Note: DIY herb gardens require payment before you start "building" and supplies are limited. First come first serve. KIDS' EARTH DAY ACTIVITIES It should always be the goal that the next generation does things better than the one that came before them. Children are our future, and what better way to care for their future than to teach them from a young age the importance of their decisions and to care for the world around them? Purposeful Earth Day centered activities will be provided for kids during the event. "A Year of Forest School" by J. Worroll + P. Houghton SPECIAL DISCOUNTS IN THE STORE For the entire week of Earth Day (4/17-4/22), we will be offering specials on a variety of "alternative" better-choice products in the store that encourage an earth-friendly and natural living lifestyle. For example, now may be a good time to try out a bar shampoo and ditch the plastic bottle (and the product inside that likely contains harmful ingredients and pollutants). More details to come on all of the specific products that will be on sale. FIRST STOP INCENTIVE We would love to be the first place you stop on your weekly shopping trip. When you purchase $150+ in grocery, household, and personal care essentials , you automatically receive 10% off those items . This includes, but is not limited to: produce, meat, dairy, canned goods, coffee, bread, oral care, soaps, shampoos + conditioners, feminine care products, laundry detergent, dish washing products, and more! COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY In order to be more sustainable in our daily operations, we ask that you bring your reusable bag(s) when you shop with us. We have many wonderful bags available for purchase here in the store, all of which give back to the environment with each sale. We have paper bags available for a fee... while they last.
