In Appreciation of Neighbors and Community

An awful lot has changed since we met for our annual community meeting on February 29th!  It's been one heck of a month and changing daily.

I find myself feeling even more grateful for our incredible neighborhood community at this challenging time.  Neighbors are reaching out to help one another.  We are working together for the sake of our children; what a great shamrock scavenger hunt to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!  The foot traffic of neighbors out for a walk has increased exponentially and the sharing of a wave and hello is a welcome human [safe distance] contact.

A lot of resources have been shared in our Brighton Green Community Private Facebook group.  I will plan to copy and share those here every few days for those not on Facebook.  However, now might be a good time to consider joining Facebook, if only for the ease of contact with neighbors.

This week, a food truck will be at the community center parking lot on two evenings.  Call ahead ordering is possible.  Or order in person, wait in your car, then grab and go.  A quick and easy way to feed your family and support a locally owned small business.

We have set up a temporary email address to handle any COVID-19 related questions and needs from the community.  [email protected] .  This account will be checked at least twice daily.

For those unable to leave your home, do not hesitate to reach out to the Board at our temporary COVID-19 related email - [email protected] - so we can help facilitate a neighbor who can help with your needs.

Stay safe!  Practice social distancing.  We look forward to normal community gatherings as soon as safely possible.

In neighborly appreciation,

Meredith Baines

BGCA Secretary
