Dear Artists, dear Supporters,
When we launched the call for work for Resist! volume 2, we were holding our breath. Would the collective energy, wit, and anger that had propelled us into making a first issue still be there? It was. You deluged us with over 1,000 submissions. You renewed our hope in our country and our free press.
Our jobs as editors are difficult. We made our decisions in order to capture both the zeitgeist of your collective voice and the full range of diversity of issues and styles. Though Resist! Volume 2 is a 96-page comic-book crammed with as much work as we could make fit, there were still so many excellent pieces we couldn't use. If you submitted work and didn't receive an email from us requesting high res artwork and a caption, your piece won't be in the upcoming print issue. However, times change and themes change - what doesn't work in one issue might work perfectly in the next, or on our website. And given the outpouring of support and work from artists, we very much hope that there will be more RESIST! in the future.
Thank you for contributing to this project. You are the reason it can exist. It is more vital than ever that we keep creating and resisting and making our voices heard. We're going to the printer in a few days--the print run will be based on the strength of the pre-orders. Please spread the word about RESIST! as far and wide as you can, and help us keep the publication free by ordering supporters copies through our website.
We have also arranged with Diamond Comics, a distributor, that comic book shops can pre-order bundles of 50 copies for only $27 including shipping--it's less than $0.50/issue!
