Finishing the School Year Strong

May highlights two very important topics: AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islanders) Month, and Mental Health Awareness Month!

ITAT was able to celebrate both of these things with different activities and events to close out the school year. Our students were able to recognize their Pacific heritage through dance at a culture showcase night and at a wedding celebration for two ITAT alumni! Our students honor Pacific Islander culture so well through dance and we are so proud of them.

ITAT also had a mental health awareness workshop in May. There were great presentations and discussions on identifying mental health issues, diseases and disorders, along with conversations of how Mental Health is viewed within in our own Polynesian community.

ITAT had great outreach and teaching moments in May at Majestic Elementary, Terra Linda Elementary, and Pacific Heritage. We are so proud of our students and team for taking initiative and teaching younger generations about protecting their bodies and minds!
