A year full of magic and wonder awaits us! Dancers Shine in Community Performances Allegro believes strongly in the importance of sharing our love of the arts with our community. On June 11 and June 13, 30 dancers donned their favorite Spring Dance Concert costume and entertained the residents at Madonna Towers and Madonna Meadows. We all had so much fun! Allegro dancers put on their walking shoes to greet the crowds as part of the Rochesterfest Parade on Saturday, June 29. Meet Allegro's Student of the Month, Sasha H! Sasha H. was nominated by Miss Taryn and Miss Allie for serving as an amazing student assistant throughout the year, and most especially for her work during the Spring Dance Concert at the Mayo Civic Center. Sasha helped with many of the littles while she worked backstage, keeping the dancers happy and quiet while they waited for their turn to dance on stage. (The children color and put together puzzles and play quietly in one of the dressing rooms when they are not on stage. As you can imagine, things can get a little messy!) Near the end of the show as Miss Allie was escorting one of her classes to the stage she mentioned that it was probably time to start thinking about cleaning up. When Miss Allie returned just a short time later this is what she saw: Sasha must be Mary Poppins, because the littles had everything picked up and put away and they were sitting quietly, ready to line up for Finale! Way to go, Sasha! Thank you for shining brightly as an exemplary role model for all our students! Looking for a Week of Magic in July? Speaking of Mary Poppins.... Miss Kathy nominated her Friday Jazz 1 class for their composure and focus during Dress Rehearsal for Spring Dance concert. Somehow all the dancers were in the wrong spots as their music started--but they continued the dance flawlessly! And they looked amazing during their performance on Saturday. Miss Kathy said, "These are great kids...great dancers! And they have excellent attendance in Friday class." Way to go, Jazz 1! Baseball and Ballet!
