Summer 2019 News Message from our President by Lucinette Alvarado, President, Pittsburgh AIHA ¡Hola a todos! This will be my last message to you as the President. I cannot believe it is mid 2019 already. Many great things had happened in our Local Section. As you may know, I had to step back from this position since I got elected as a Director of the National AIHA Board of Directors. Thank you so much for those who took the time and voted. This doesn’t mean that I will not participate in the meetings. This Puerto Rican IH will still be around to support the events as much as I can. You will be in great hands with your new president Renee Cowell. She is an awesome women and everyone in the team will do amazing work as always. I must say, its being a great year. We worked together as a team and we had great events. You should be proud of all the accomplishments! Please continue the great work. As mentioned before, this Local Section is a strong group. Be persistent, work hard and always be proud for your accomplishments. I will end with a poem about persistence which I considered very powerful. I hope you have a great summer and I will see you around. Persistence The force that is going to carry you to your goal, Is coiled up inside of you, in your energy, your pluck, your grit, Your originality, your character, and your possession of a strong, Persistent, tenacious purpose. Whatever you do in life, keep in an ambition – arousing atmosphere. Keep close to those who are dead in earnest, Who are anxious to do something in the world.
