ART TO REMEMBER

Celebrate Your Child's Creativity and Get Cool Stuff!

This year, the PTO has teamed up with a new vendor, Art To Remember, to offer this special opportunity to order memorable gifts for any occasion, and support the PTO at the same time!

Created from artwork made by your child, this program allows you to order great products, like mugs or canvas bags, that feature your budding Picasso. These make great gifts for your relatives or for the holidays!

Your student will be bringing home a letter with instructions on how to view their personal online gallery and place orders. Please log on to https://arttoremember.com/ and use the unique code on the letter to access your child’s artwork and see the available products. And, to make things easier, Art To Remember has an online gallery ordering system that now works with multiple students across both schools.

Deadline for ORM and CMS orders is FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4th to ensure timely delivery for the holidays.

Spring Musical Selection Time!

Students are encouraged to attend two lunch-time meetings Monday October 21 and Tuesday October 22 to learn about and to vote on the shows.  Students must attend BOTH meetings to be eligible to vote between these two shows: "The Little Mermaid" or "Monty Python's Spamalot." Both shows are “Junior” versions which are developed specifically for middle schools:  edited for content, vocals transposed for developing voices, and condensed to run about one hour.  Students who attend BOTH lunch-time meetings will vote to select the musical; results will be announced on November 4th.  Details of cast auditions, crew sign up, rehearsals, etc. will follow after show selection.  Performances will be at the end of March, right before Spring Break.

PVSF Annual Campaign Update

There are only TWO WEEKS LEFT for this year's Annual Campaign.

If you have not yet had a chance to contribute, please join us today!  Our goal is to reach 100% parent participation and we cannot do that without your contribution.

We have already raised $706,000 with 44% parent participation but we need YOUR GIFT to reach our goal.  The additional teachers, aides, academic specialists, art and PE that your child experiences are reliant on support from the Foundation.

Your foundation dollars at work: LUNCHTIME ART CLUB AT ORMONDALE

They’ve designed a city called Ormondalopolis, created ocean creatures from mixed media, and painted pictures of a cactus that needs a hug. This month – the month of InkTober – they’re drawing, drawing and drawing some more.

Those are just a few of the art projects taken on by 1st through 3rd graders at the Ormondale Lunchtime Art Club, supported by a grant from the Portola Valley Schools Foundation. Twice a month, the art room is jam packed with kids from the moment they finish eating until the bell rings. All projects coincide with Social Emotional Learning concepts introduced that month by Counselor Tamryn Miller, so the children have an opportunity to think through what those SEL skills mean to them.

“Art can be a great way to self-regulate,” says parent Sarah Vincenzo, who runs the program. “And also challenge yourself to grow.”
