Plantables loves Ralph Waldo Emerson’s quote, “The Earth Laughs in Flowers”. Flowers are not only amazingly beautiful, but also are truly vital for our wonderful earth. We at Plantables celebrate each time a bee lands on a flower (especially one that came from a Bee Bomb) eating the nectar or pollen. It is literally their breakfast, lunch, and dinner!! Our bees and other pollinator friends (who are in serious decline) are depending on us to do our part to plant flowers, LOTS of flowers. So let’s make a difference this spring, plant as many flowers and sow as many seeds as you can. BEE the Change!

Our BEE-yond amazing TJ has been with us since Plantables' inception (October 2013). Not only has TJ been a part of the manufacturing process for all our Plantables products, but he also has been leading all of our “Morning Meetings”. Each day at the warehouse, TJ takes attendance and then ask each of his coworkers “a question of the day”.  He is a phenomenal leader with an incredible sense of humor!! And if you want to put a smile on TJ’s face, bring him a Gatorade. It’s been a blast having TJ be a part of Plantables and we can’t wait to witness his growth in the weeks and months ahead.

Rusty Patched Bumblebee

In late March, the rusty patched bumblebee became the first bee listed as an endangered bee species in the continental U.S. They are one of many bee types that have suffered steep population declines. The rusty patched has disappeared from about 90 percent of its range since the late 1990’s. It previously was common across the East Coast and much of the Midwest, where it plays a crucial role as a pollinator of crops and wild plants. Its listing as an endangered species means the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will devise a plan for returning the imperiled bee to "a healthy and secure condition". The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation filed the petition that triggered the government's consideration of the. "Now that the Fish and Wildlife Service has listed the rusty patched bumblebee as endangered, it stands a chance of surviving the many threats it faces," said Sarina Jepsen, the group's director of endangered species. https://www.nrdc.org/media/2017/170110
