ORMONDALE’S ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARADE
We will be holding our annual Halloween Parade on Wednesday, October 31st at 8:30am on the 1st-3rd Grade Blacktop. Please bring your child to school in their costumes if they would like to participate, as well as a set of school clothes to change into following the parade and classroom festivities. Just a friendly reminder that there are no “scary” costumes, and/or weapon related costumes allowed at the Ormondale Halloween Parade. We are looking forward to continuing this amazing tradition! Come early, parking is limited and don’t forget your camera!

second harvest food drive
November 5-9th
This Thursday students will meet with their school "families" to decorate paper bags to take home and fill with food to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank. We hope you will send your Ormondale student with a bag full of food to donate during our food drive week, November 5-9th! Last year we earned a bronze award from Second Harvest for our collection efforts -- lets beat that this year!
Bins will be available outside of the Ormondale office for donations 11/5-11/9 and we'll have volunteers during car line drop off to help as well. If you'd like to help, please contact Milana McCullagh ([email protected]).

CMS CAMPUS VOLUNTEER DAY!
This will be a chance for friends and community to build school pride, enter a prize drawing, and of course enjoy treats at the end!
Sunday, November 4th from 10am - noon.
Check in at the front entrance by the office. We will get you signed up for the prize drawing before sending you off on a project.
We will have kids and adults helping with a campus-wide trash pick up, planting bulbs (we have 650!) and sprinkling wildflower seeds. Please bring your own gloves and a water bottle for hydration.
Do you have a bulb planting tool? A great shovel or clippers?
Throw them in the car and you may end up putting them to use.
At 11:45 we will meet back up at the office area for treats and chat with our friends and neighbors about the job well done.
*All children will need an adult on campus as their point person so please arrange in advance if your child will be attending without you.
Look forward to seeing you there! Send any questions or offers to help to Kim Zamboldi ([email protected]).

cross country championships
Special cheer to the CMS girls for their First Place team finish and to 5th grader, Pearl Marsyla, for her First Place individual time. The CMS Boys ran well, too, coming in Fourth Place out of 8 teams.
Do you have a kid that loves to run? Consider signing them up for Cross Country next fall! Practices are 3 days a week after school right at CMS. Cross Country is both an individual and a team sport, with top 7 individual times determining the team score. The kids love it, and there's no better way of getting them in shape!

We need to hit a minimum, so please indicate your interest HERE. If we receive enough interest by 11/15, we will put new orders in. If you have any questions about sizing, etc., please contact Brooke Day directly at [email protected]

yosemite closet
The annual 7th grade trip to Yosemite is coming up November 26th-30th! We are currently looking to accept donations of the following items:
Waterproof hiking boots (youth size 5 & up)
Rain Jackets & Pants (youth small/medium/large or adult small)
Fleece jackets & layers (youth small/medium/large or adult small)
Sleeping bags
If you have any of these items to donate, there will be a collection box in front of the office starting on Thursday, October 25th. Please be sure that your items are clean and in good condition. Please email Stefanie Trenchard ([email protected]) with questions or comments.

Anti-anxiety/exec function coaching that works!
This generation of students has proven to be one of the most anxiety-ridden populations especially here in "pressure-cooker" Silicon Valley. It affects working memory and ability to truly process information and other Executive Function abilities. With pressures in sports, academia and even social, it is imperative to adopt a way of life that yields a good system for managing anxiety and preventing challenges to self regulation, learning and problem solving. Please email for a complimentary session!!! All workshops taught by a state certified therapeutic expert in Executive Function and Anxiety Reduction.
