ITAT Leadership Training

This month, our ITAT presidencies attended a leadership training on Saturday, September 28th 2019. The theme of the training was "Using our stories to empower and educate our peers and communities". We unveiled our new presentation "Lengthen your breath of life". ITAT students learned statistics on tobacco use in the Pacific Island Community and how tobacco impacts their peers. It also included new information on the Vaping epidemic plaguing teens all over the world. Our Island Teens practiced their leadership skills by telling their own stories, and sharing why they choose to be tobacco/vape free. Each student drew their Lifeline on a large poster and shared with the other students important experiences that helped shape them into the person they are today. After sharing their personal stories, the students all created videos for social media stating their reasons for staying tobacco/vape free. The leadership training empowered our ITAT students to be leaders in their communities and among their peers.

Our ITAT presidencies left the training ready and excited to share, educate, and advocate to their peers.

Following the training, the students went roller skating at Classic Skate.
