COVID-19 REMINDERS

Please make sure to review the important "Superintendent's Message" re our upcoming Mid-Winter Break, which highlights some important COVID-related reminders and updates:

Travel

Please do not travel unnecessarily. PVSD continues to adhere to the health and safety Travel guidelines provided by California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and recommends that all non-essential travel be cancelled/postponed due to the increased risk that travel poses to others during the pandemic. The key points of the CDPH advisory are as follows:

Except in connection with essential travel, Californians should avoid non-essential travel to any part of California more than 120 miles from one's place of residence, or to other states or countries.

Those who do decide to travel despite the travel advisories should quarantine for 10 days after returning home, with the exception of those traveling to meet essential needs.

If you must travel, please clearly communicate your plans to your child’s teacher(s) and Principal. Please remember to develop a quarantine and COVID test plan prior to your child returning on campus.  As a reminder, testing negative within the quarantine period does NOT clear a student to return to campus.  The CDPH has NOT adopted the CDC's diagnostic testing strategy of testing out of quarantine after day 7.

Safe Behaviors

We ask everyone in our community to continue following the PVSD Social Contract and practice the “four pillars” safety measures at all times. Given San Mateo County is in the Purple Tier, please continue to follow current guidelines  such as limiting gatherings to no more than three households, to help reduce the risk of transmission within the PVSD community.

COVID-19 Testing

Families are still encouraged to surveillance test their students every two weeks, and after any possible or known exposure.  An individual can still potentially become positive up to 14 days after exposure to COVID-19.

Reminder that the CMS campus is closed from 7:00am-4:00pm during the school week. Students and staff are on campus during this time. Students cannot come back on campus after school is out to play on the play structure (which is closed during school hours).

Please drive CAREFULLY in and out of the parking lot for drop off and pick up. CMS has recently added a crossing guard in the morning to help kids get through the parking lot safely. Drive slowly and use your turn signal both as you enter and leave the parking lot so that the crossing guards know which way you are turning and can help cross kids safely.

The next CMS Spirit Day is Friday, February 12th. It will be a red and pink dress up day to celebrate Valentine's Day.

ART TO REMEMBER -Last week

A fundraiser for CMS

This may not be a traditional year but we can still commemorate it with beautiful keepsake items customized with your child’s art! Corte Madera will once again work with Art to Remember; this year the program is online only.

How it works: Your child should have brought home a piece of paper to use for their creation. Can’t find it? No problem, use a white piece of paper you have handy.

Stumped for ideas? Check out: https://arttoremember.com/about/resources/lesson-plans/ Remember to encourage color and art covering the entire page for the best, most vibrant keepsakes.

Once the masterpiece is created, snap a picture and head over to the CMS portal, search for your child’s name and upload the photo. You can then shop! Order what you like - don’t forget grandparents - and the products will be shipped to your house. Maybe it’s too much for your child to create a new piece of art or for you to lead another project at home? No problem! Find that beautiful artwork created in past years and upload a photo of that one. The final date to upload artwork is February 12th.

Uploading too much? Have your child bring the art to Ms. Horgan and we will take care of it.

Here’s the link to the Corte Madera Portal: https://arttoremember.com/school/l56xae

Please contact Erin Sanders if you have any questions: [email protected]

Happy creating!
