Sacred Hearts School' Ohana,

I hope you are enjoying a safe and relaxing statehood holiday. In case you missed it, here is a link to the 2021-2022 Virtual Back to School Night sent out this past Tuesday.

Congratulations to our Ke Kula Kamali'i Pu'uwai La'a, Early Learning Center and Director, Ms. Vanessa Brovelli, and ELC faculty. This year marks the 20th year of providing exceptional early childhood education! Plans are underway for celebrating this anniversary.

Maui Catholic School's faculty/staff attended the Mass of the Holy Spirit at St. Anthony school in Wailuku yesterday. Our Pastor Fr. Kuriakose presided over the Mass and gave an inspirational and informative  Mass of the Holy Spirit Homily on the importance of Catholic education and the unique calling of those who serve as teachers. Following the Mass, there was an innovation presentation by Super Intendant of Hawaii Catholic Schools, Dr. Llewellyn Young. Sacred Hearts School continues to look for new and innovative ways of living out our school's mission during these unprecedented times.

Kupuna Care Package essential items are due this Friday. Please see the House System section for our first school service project, "Kupuna Care Package," which supports our Parish Outreach Ministry in providing essential items for our elderly at Hale Mahaolu Eono on Lahainaluna Road. Each house will earn points for donating the items, but most importantly, our school's mission is to serve our community.

I received concerns of parents who pick up their children on the side of Waine'e and Dickenson street, which violates our school's guidelines (see below). I urge everyone to adhere to pick-up and drop-off guidelines for the safety of all, especially our students. I will be reaching out to those who do not comply with our guidelines.

Let us continue to work together and pray for the safety and success of our school community. Thank you for your cooperation and support. Enjoy your weekend and see you magnificent Monday!

Sincerely in Christ,

Mrs. Tonata Lolesio

Imua Crusaders!

This Sunday’s Readings

What is "Real Presence" ? Ordinary Time 21B (Catholic Kids Media)

"As you gather as a family, talk about promise that parents make at their child’s baptism to teach their child about Jesus and the faith of the Church. Talk about the importance of this promise to your family and about some of the things that you are doing to try to honor this commitment. In today’s Gospel we hear Simon Peter speak about what he has come to believe about Jesus. Together read today’s Gospel, John 6:60-69. Pray together that each person in our family will grow in his or her faith that Jesus is the one sent by God who alone has the words of eternal life. Pray together the Apostles’ Creed or the Nicene Creed."
