Don't forget to Follow Ridgewood Crew on Facebook/Instagram Spring Update While we were hoping to hear all systems are on for the spring regattas, we are still on hold for them (below is a list of the regattas as they are tentatively scheduled). We do not have firm dates for when the regatta sponsors will provide a go or no go, but expect another update in late February. But the good news is that Coach Boris and other New Jersey coaches are in contact and are looking into options for organizing a series of New Jersey regattas/scrimmages if the out-of-state regattas are postponed or cancelled. Please understand that Ridgewood Crew will make all the reasonable efforts that we can to provide our team with racing opportunities this Spring. We will continue with our Winter land training this month, and begin our water training program on March 1. The schedule and registration will be sent out in a week or so. As some of your are aware, there will be a new boathouse built at PRRA! Yeah! While that is awesome news and we are thrilled to be able to be a part of the new boathouse (see rendering below), there will be significant construction at PRRA starting this spring. We will continue to row out of PRRA but our equipment will need to be moved to temporary space (at PRRA). We will be moving everything from the sheds in the pen to a temporary POD in the parking lot at PRRA. On Saturday, February 27, 10am – 12noon we will need 20 rower volunteers to help move all contents of the sheds to the temporary PODS. Please sign up on GroupSpot (event tab). Any questions about the move, please contact Judy Wong at

One fee will be a Training Fee and the other will be a Regatta Fee. Once we have an idea of the spring regattas and what restrictions there may be associated with them we will calculate a fee for rower participation in regattas. Please note that the Regatta Fee may be substantial and more than the Training Fee, depending on what is included in attending a regatta. In late February a 2K test and technique assessment will be scheduled. This will determine team assignment and boat lineup. Due to Covid restrictions we will not be providing busing to and from practice for March. Rowers should carpool to practice. Busing for April and May will be determined in March. The boathouse construction will be separated by a fence; practice will be scheduled outside of construction; however, we ask all rowers and parents to remember to be alert and cautious at all times while in the surrounding area. There will be practice during spring break. No practice on Good Friday, April 2 or Easter, April 4. Remember we do our best to adhere to the practice schedule. Rowers are expected to attend practices when we resume water training with the assumption that we will have one or more spring regattas. At times we may need to modify or cancel practice due to weather, construction or any unforeseen circumstance. We strive to get the information out to parents and rowers in a timely manner. Any changes to practice will be communicated via GroupSpot.
