Please register your child for weekly testing with Worksite Labs!

Please Register your Child for Weekly During the School Day Testing with WorkSite Labs (if you haven't yet)

We're only at 50% registration for weekly testing with WorkSite Labs (during the school day testing).

While we cannot mandate student testing at this time, it is highly recommended that all students participate.  I am hopeful that we will have 100% student participation as this will be the district’s main testing source for students and staff.  Beginning the week of October 18, testing will take place during the school day:

  • Tuesday @ Corte Madera School
  • Wednesday @ Ormondale

Portola Valley School District’s COVID-19 testing program is designed to provide diagnostic screening testing for all students and staff of PVSD. We ask that you register your child or children as soon as possible.  Please review the following links as they contain important registration information.

Community Testing with Virus Geeks
In addition, the Portola Valley School District has partnered with Virus Geeks to provide free community testing in PVSD.  All members of the community (parents, PV residents, younger siblings, current and former students, etc) are encouraged to take part in the weekly testing. (Note: if your child is tested weekly with WorkSite Labs in the during the school-day testing program, it is not necessary to test with Virus Geeks).

  • Location:  PVSD District Office Annex (next to Corte Madera School
  • Day: Thursday October 14, then every Monday beginning October 18
  • Time: 3:15 - 6:15 p.m
  • No appointment is necessary

Halloween parade friday october 29, 8:45am

The Halloween parade tradition continues - but with a twist! The parade will not be on campus this year due to construction. Students and their teachers will start the parade at the kindergarten gate and will parade down Iroquois Trail to the school entrance, through the car line area and back to the kindergarten gate.

  • Please don’t park on Iroquois that morning to reserve ample viewing space for the parade.

  • Parents should stay behind the cones that will be set up on the street.

Costumes: Children may wear costumes on this day, they should come to school ready in their costume in the morning. Costumes should be school and age appropriate, should not include toy weapons and should not be overly scary (e.g. masks, blood). Students may wear costumes all day or change at recess if they are able to do so themselves.

Coming Soon: Art to Remember

The Art to Remember program is back in time for holiday gifts this year!  Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child’s art. Right now, children are busy creating colorful, fun artwork, and soon you will receive a personalized order form. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Over 50 keepsake products featuring your child’s artwork
  • Many of the products are less than $15
  • A percentage of every order goes right back to our school
  • Safe, secure online ordering at ArtToRemember.com.

Are My Kids Safe? What Parents Should Know About the Online Environment

Thu, October 14, 2021

5:30 PM – 6:30 PM

RSVP

As a parent, you do everything you can to protect your children. One thing that could affect the safety of your child is an online predator. In today's digital world, 93% of teens ages 12 to 17 go online, and approximately 45% say they are online “almost constantly.” Predators are online too. In this webinar, Pamela will discuss how online predators work and provide safety ideas and resources to protect and educate the children/teens in your life.

Pamela Estes, Esq., is the Human Trafficking Program Coordinator for San Mateo County. She is a certified human trafficking advocate and sexual assault counselor, and a co-founder of Before Our Very Eyes, a human trafficking awareness effort.

Parents/caregivers, students, educators, mental health professionals, and community members welcome! Free admission. Spanish interpretation will be available.

This Parent Education Mini-Series event is sponsored Sequoia Union High School District, Sequoia Healthcare District, Peninsula Health Care District, and The Parent Venture. The Parent Education Series is a program of The Parent Venture, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
