With 2016 coming to an end and some recent changes for Pixarra it felt like a fitting time to gather up news and share it all at once. Topics will include a new website, new forum and gallery, new support portal, additional products in 2016, new release of TwistedBrush Pro Studio as well as offering a 50% discount on everything!

Please welcome our fully redesigned website. The goal was to have a new website that more appealing visually, useful for viewers as well as easier to update. The URL remains the same www.pixarra.com

New Support Portal

Pixarra now has a dedicated support portal with a support ticket system and knowledge base. Please be patient while the knowledge base grows.

When an issue can't be resolved in the knowledge base or forum please open a support ticket, that is preferred over email. Access to the support portal is available from the Pixarra website or directly at http://support.pixarra.com

The Pixarra Forum has Moved

Perhaps the biggest change that impacts many users of TwistedBrush is the new location of the Pixarra forum and gallery. We at Pixarra have decided that integrating the forum with the new support portal will ultimately give users of TwistedBrush better support. With this change comes some added value and perhaps some things that will be missed by frequent forum / gallery visitors. The new forum can be accessed directly from the Pixarra website, the support portal or directly via this URL:

http://support.pixarra.com/support/discussions

Do note that if you want to post in the forum you will need to create a new forum login if you haven't already.

Where is the Gallery?

The images from the old gallery have not been ported into the new forum. However, we have made the 8000+ user submitted images available in a viewable archive. Additionally we have showcased the full collections of 48 artists on the Pixarra website.

Sharing your artwork with other TwistedBrush users is still possible in the new forum Share Artwork section. The presentation is not in gallery form but instead as a forum post still allowing comments and discussion. Selected submissions, similar to the previous Pic of the Day, will be highlighted and posted to the Pixarra social feeds on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook​ and will also appear on the Pixarra website in the Recent Highlights page.

TwistedBrush Pro Studio 23

Version 23 adds hundreds of high quality brushes from the Studio products, advanced auto color tracing mode, numerous refinements and fixes. A full list of items can be found here.

Perhaps the worlds most advanced 2D tree assisted generation tool. Create unlimited 2D trees for use in your art projects and in other software. See the product page for a full list and gallery of tree types currently supported.

TwistedBrush Liquid Studio 1

New this year, Liquid Studio is a system of painting not being used anyway else to our knowledge. A blend between modeling and  painting with illustrative results as shown to the left in a quick doodle. Once you learn the system there is a satisfying liberation to model your objects and then paint them all in 2D. 

TwistedBrush Blob Studio 1

Also new this year is the introduction of Blob Studio. A wild approach to painting in 2.25D where luminance is automatically determined and you build up your model in 2.25D space and then paint them. Not just for objects but full scenes can be painted in this style. Learn it and you will be rewarded super fine results.

Farewell to TwistedBrush Open Studio

TwistedBrush Open Studio was a free version of TwistedBrush with the option to purchase ArtSet bundles. Open Studio is no longer generally available. It was based on an older version (17) and while powerful and useful it was starting to fall behind the functionality available in Pro Studio which is now at version 23. It is possible that we will offer a free version again in the future but currently we have no concrete plan for this. For those that have purchased ArtSet bundles for Open Studio we will allow upgrading to Pro Studio. If interested please open a support ticket or email [email protected] for details.
