Saturday, November 3 noon- 3 pm Free
The Carnegie Art Museum celebrates Día de los Muertos as we honor our departed ones through music, dance and a variety of traditional art activities, face painting, hot chocolate and Pan de Muerto.
Enjoy an afternoon of live music by Musician Juan Mendoza, dance performance by Ballet Folklórico Mestizo from Oxnard College, and face painting by Ms. Brown’s Artistry. Decorate your own calavera de azúcar (sugar skulls), create a tin ornament and design your own Q-tip calaca with our friends from Lakeshore Learning.
The centerpiece of the afternoon is a traditional ofrenda (altar) created for the celebration where you can leave a written dedication in memory of a departed loved one.
