As a contemplative practitioner and clinical psychologist, James Finley helps seekers who desire to live a contemplative, whole life. Drawing from his experience as a former monk and spiritual directee of Thomas Merton, Jim offers trustworthy guidance for the spiritual journey through online courses, occasional retreats, and the Center for Action and Contemplation where he serves as a core faculty  member with Cynthia Bourgeault and Richard Rohr. He is the author of several books, including Merton’s Palace of NowhereThe Contemplative Heart, and Christian Meditation.

If we are absolutely grounded

in the absolute love of God

that protects us from nothing

even as it sustains us in all things,

then we can face all things

with courage and tenderness

and touch the hurting places

in others and in ourselves with love.

- James Finley -

Picture

Monday evenings, 7-8:30pm

Listening Together @ Pathways is a contemplative circle listening for Christian Wisdom for our times. In the coming weeks we will read and reflect on the book THE WISDOM WAY OF KNOWING by Cynthia Bourgeault -- beginning on Monday, May 6 through Monday, July 1.  Each evening will include short readings from the Lectionary texts for Easter/Pentecost season (the Wisdom of Resurrection), paired with a Logion from the Gospel of Thomas; Chanting; Centering Prayer; Contemplative Reflections on THE WISDOM WAY OF KNOWING, Soul Sharing and Passing the Peace. All are welcome. Come once. Come often.

Facilitated by Nina Lanctot. There is no cost or registration, though donations to Pathways Retreat are always welcome.
