Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ballo di Savoia(Savoy Ball) gala, the 23rd Annual Winter Charity Benefit at the Metropolitan Club in New York City shifted to a virtual video presentation, which was broadcast on youtube on the evening of December 12, 2020. Over 250 Savoy Orders members and guests tuned in from the comfort of their own homes to view an elegant video presentation, which captured the essence of past Ball events and the highlighted historic mission of the American Foundation of Savoy Orders.

We are asking those members who have not contributed to please join us in donating the amount you would have spent for the Ballo di Savoia 2020 – including flights, hotel rooms, events, etc. – directly to the Savoy Foundation.

For those who have already contributed, please consider upgrading your donation level shown below by making an additional contribution to help us reach our goal.

More than 100 Savoy Orders members have already responded to our call to action, and we are excited and thankful that we have already raised $175,000 so far.  But we have a way to go to reach our goal of $200,000.

Making your donation is simple: you may use the following link to our website for donation options. Please be as generous as you can.

Glorifying Church and State: The Chapel of the Holy Shroud of Turin, Guarini and the Royal House of Savoy

This Savoy History Series installment, originally presented by Professor John Beldon Scott in the Fall of 2018,  explores the Savoy's Dynasty's pivotal role in the history of the holy relic as expressed in the great architectural marvel of the chapel's dome design. Located between the Cathedral and the Savoy Royal Palace in Turin, priest-architect Guarino Guarini’s Holy Shroud chapel embodies both sacred and secular imagery, demonstrating the dual function of the relic in the religion and politics of the early modern Savoyard realm.
