News from the WRRC

Greetings from the WRRC

March is upon us, and for many, this is the time where we begin to think of spring! With the new season, comes new recreation programming and events.

Currently, the WRRC is wrapping up a community recreation survey. However, this is still some time to complete it now! The online survey deadline is Saturday, March 9, at 11:59 pm. Physical copies can also be picked up and returned to the RM of Whitemouth Office. All physical copies are due Friday, March 9 at 4:30 pm. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey so the WRRC can offer the types of programs that interest you and your family. Click the button below to complete the survey.

We are also excited to offer some new and returning programs starting this spring! This includes an ATV and Snowmobile Safety Course, a "Do It Yourself" Project Series and Vegan Cooking Classes. To find out more details, check out the rest of this newsletter and our social media pages. We are also excited about our upcoming Spring Break Day Camps!

Annual Interagency Meeting

Saturday, March 17, 2018

Time: 9:00-11:00 am

Location: Council Chambers, RM of Whitemouth Office

Inviting all Community Groups and Clubs, Non-Profit Organizations, Event Committees and Community Volunteer.


The purpose of this meeting is to bring together all groups from around the Whitemouth area in an annual planning session. It is our goal to have at least one representative from each group at this meeting. We will also share various community event dates and create an event list. We will also be looking at various funding opportunities available to community groups. 

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the WRRC.

Spring Break for Sunrise School Division

The WRRC is getting ready for SPRING BREAK!

We are in the process of finalizing some details. Keep an eye on our Facebook page and Website within the next few days for dates, times and registration!

We are also still looking for volunteers and high school students to help make these spring break activities successful. Please contact the WRRC if you are interested! 

The WRRC's Youth Leadership Program

 The WRRC is looking to start a program geared for youth, ages 13-17. 

The WRRC's Youth Leadership program can open doors for youth, giving them the opportunity to:

  • Work in team settings with peers
  • Build new skills
  • Become involved with community programs & events
  • Earn volunteer hours
  • Get active
  • Take initiative on projects
  • Build friendships and have fun!

Proposed Plan:

  • Program beginning April 2018
  • When: Tuesdays, 3:45-5:30 pm
  • Location: Whitemouth School
  • Cost: $5.00 drop-in

Calling all High School Students and Community Members

The WRRC is looking for community members to volunteer their time for some upcoming recreation programs and events. 

If you are a student, who needs to complete volunteer hours, or wanting to add volunteer experience to your resume, this is the perfect opportunity for you. 

The WRRC would also love to have the help from adults and seniors, interested in children's programming, arts and craft, sports, or whatever might interest you. Recreation is very diverse, we will find an area that interests you and that connects to your passion and interests.

The Whitemouth Daycare Committee is presenting to the Sunrise School Division in a few weeks' time. In order to present their case with the most current numbers of need in our area, they are asking residents to fill out a questionnaire. Please fill one out and return it to the RM of Whitemouth Office. Check out their Facebook for more information and to find the questionnaire: Whitemouth Childcare or contact Melanie Kurlowich​.
