Welcome to the 2020 Ridgewood Crew Team!


Congratulations on making the 2019 Ridgewood Crew Team! We are excited to continue training for the rigorous Spring Season.

GO RIDGEWOOD CREW!


Mandatory practice starts today, Wednesday, January 8; 5:30pm. Practices will be Monday - Friday 5:30 - 7:30pm and Saturday 11am - 1pm in the RHS Cafeteria. Please note that rowers who are participating in a winter RHS sport will join the team once their winter sport is over.

Reminders: 

  • Mandatory team meeting will be on Friday, January 10; 7:30pm in the RHS Campus Center. One parent/guardian plus the rower must be in attendance as we will be reviewing a lot of information. Pizza will be provided for the rowers prior to the meeting.
  • Optional practice on Saturday, January 18 and Monday, January 20 (MLKJr Day); mandatory practices resume on Tuesday, January 21. 
  • February break (2/15, 2/17 - 2/19) will have optional practices; mandatory practices for those that need to make up practices. Mandatory practices will resume on Wednesday, February 20.  
  • The on-the-water schedule will be coming soon; note rowers will practice Tuesday - Sunday. The first water regatta will be the 3rd Manny Flick on Sunday, March 29. Rowers are off on Mondays so please schedule tutoring, doctor's appointments, etc accordingly.

Development Team ​​

Spring training begins Wednesday, January 8 at 4:30pm. Practices are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 4:30-5:30pm. When the team moves back to the water, practices will be on Saturday and Sunday, time TBD.

Our first regatta is the Ironmen Erg Classic at Don Bosco High School in Ramsey, NJ on Saturday, January 25; more details to come. 

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION​

In order to participate in the spring regattas, every rower must complete the US Rowing online waiver. Ridgewood Crew obtains the US Rowing basic membership for each rower. Once we have registered or renewed your membership, you will receive an email with your member ID number and instructions to sign the waiver. The instructions are below for your reference - if you have problems signing the waiver, please reach out to Ann Hida ([email protected] or 917-664-7681). 

  • Click on https://membership.usrowing.org/
  • Go to 'individual', 'members', and once you hover the mouse over 'members', it will drop down and select the 2nd option 'sign your waiver'
  • Type your member number and your password
  • If you cannot remember your membership number, you can click on 'Forgot my member number' and you can use the rowers name, birth date, and email
  • You may be instructed to answer 4 rowing-related questions (don't worry if you get them wrong, you can still get to the waiver!)
  • After you answer the questions, you will sign the waiver
  • If you are new to Ridgewood Crew, you will input your member ID and then click 'forgot password' and an email will be sent with instruction on how to reset your password
  • Once you have done this, you can go back and complete the waiver process

Make sure your InstaTeam account is current and up to date.

All practice/regatta schedules will be posted there. As well as RC events, sign up opportunities, and important communications.

It is very important to be registered as InstaTeam as it is the quickest way to provide information and has been very useful when it comes to last-minute changes and location updates.
