Hey Team,

We start the week with a killer 50 MIN Full Body HIIT No Repeat that will set you on fire, Thursday is a quick 15 MIN Kickbox Cardio Workout that can be used as an add on or by itself. New workouts are released on their day at 5AM EST. All other workouts are available now. Remember you can tailor the workouts for your schedule by adding or swapping out workouts that are best for you goals. Always make sure you throw in some rest and recovery as that is where gains are made!

There’s four ways your body burns calories throughout the day:

  1. BMR (basal metabolic rate) is the calories your body needs to keep your organs running and stay alive.
  2. TEF (thermic effect of food) is the energy used to break down the food you eat.
  3. EAT (exercise activity thermogenesis) is the calories burned through structured exercise like lifting and cardio
  4. NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis) is the calories burned through all other movements like walking the dog, cooking, carrying the shopping home, doing the gardening, playing with your children at the park, washing the car, or even fidgeting at your desk.

By getting more steps throughout the day, you’re burning more calories as NEAT, which is very low stress on the body, easy to recover from, and doing little bits of goodness throughout the day that really add up.

Walking after meals help with digestion, as well as give your body time to realize it’s full so you don’t keep eating (especially if you’re in a calorie deficit or have higher hunger/cravings).

Movement, fresh air, and sunshine are all immediate mood-boosters, which helps you feel more energized throughout the day and helps you make better choices that are in alignment with your goals. When you feel that afternoon crash, instead of reaching for some caffeine or sugar try going for a walk (preferably outside) first.

Getting sunshine in the morning helps with your natural melatonin production, which can help improve our sleep. If you’re getting enough + quality sleep, this will have a substantial impact on your body’s ability to lose fat, build muscle, and progress in your workouts.

No you can’t just walk your way to a leaner body composition, but it can be a great tool to help you get there 🙌
