TRAINING UPDATE INFORMATION
BASIC HSPO Training and Continuing Education
Greetings to All,
All of us affiliated with the PAACC hope this email finds you all in good health as we work together to get through these unprecedented times. We are all impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak on varying levels and we truly appreciate all of you understanding our need to reschedule some of our training. This email is to provide you with the most up-to-date information on where we are with our schedule.
BASIC HSPO CERTIFICATION Spring 2020 - POSTPONED to June 15-19 (Part I - General Law Enforcement Procedures) and June 22-26 (Animal Husbandry). Location will remain the newly renovated community room at the Hershey Derry Township Historical Society, 40 Northeast Drive Hershey, PA 17033. I have made contact with all attendees regarding the new dates. Due to the change in dates, we have reopened the enrollment period and will continue to accept applicants on a limited basis. Course Catalog and Enrollment Form has been updated and is available on our website.
BASIC HSPO CERTIFICATION Fall 2020 - TENTATIVE DATES are October 26-30 (Part I - General Law Enforcement Procedures) and November 9-13 (Animal Husbandry). A minimum of 10 students is required to hold a second Basic HSPO certification course in 2020. Enrollment is NOT open at this time. Once we have confirmed the dates, an additional email will be sent with enrollment information and our website will be updated.
CONTINUING EDUCATION Spring 2020 - At this time we do not have plans to reschedule the May 5-6 or May 12-13 Mandated Continuing Education to be held at the Holiday Inn - Morgantown. Our sincere hope is we will be through the restrictions at that time. We will continue to monitor the situation closely as well as the CDC guidelines and keep you all informed with any changes should they be necessary. I am aware that should a schedule change be needed, this is problematic for those of you with credentials expiring. I am currently working with the Department of Agriculture to address that issue should it arise. Let's hope it does not, but please know that we are aware and looking at contingencies. As a reminder priority is given to those with credentials expiring in May/June 2020. The remaining seats will be available after April 1, 2020. TO DATE, THERE ARE NO CHANGES TO THE MAY TRAINING AND WE ARE ON SCHEDULE AS PLANNED. Enrollment form is available on our website.
CONTINUING EDUCATION Fall 2020 - Mandated Continuing Education is also available on September 24-25 at the Hershey Derry Township Historical Society. Enrollment period will begin on June 1, 2020 and will be open to all HSPO's without priority restrictions. Check our website for updates and enrollment form.
ADVANCED ANIMAL CRUELTY INVESTIGATION - Save the Date!October 14-16, 2020. To be held at the Hershey Derry Township Historical Society. More details are forthcoming once the agenda is finalized.
