Our sympathy and condolences to the family of our past volunteer Rose Stevenson and long-time Cuyahoga Falls Good Neighbors Volunteer Nancy Heaton . Unit Activities Good Neighbors Community Outreach and Food Center Our sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of Carle Wyler. We thank them for their memorial donations to benefit our food center. IBH members continue to help unload the trucks when we have large food orders to pick up from the food bank. Jenny Siebert and Evelyn Balogh planted flowers around our food center. Jenny has been volunteering her time to do this every year. Tom Fritsch is donating paint and volunteering his time to sand and paint the bench outside of the food center. On Thursday mornings, Butch Johnston cleans our food center floors before serving clients. The Greater Akron Motorcycle Club donated personal care items and The ASW Company donated bars of soaps. Robert Wilson recently made a generous financial donation. We appreciate his generosity and continued support. Continued prayers for Judy Wilson . John and Julie Bates' grandsons Tyler Cate and Michael Campisi volunteered on Thursdays over the summer. Tyler volunteered for more than 70 hours. John and Julie provided our food center with much needed cereal and groceries donated by the church members at their Stow Community Church . Sending get well wishes to Charlene Nevada Krummel. We pray that she makes a complete recovery and feels better soon. We are happy that Peggy Zimmer and Ann Tyler are both feeling better and have returned to volunteer. Happy 88th Birthday to Wilma McMasters ! Wilma volunteers at our food center and Superior-Wooster locations. She also serves as the Good Neighbors, Inc. Assistant Treasurer. Happy 55th Anniversary to George and Rita Camilletti ! Valerie Straw distributed school supplies to families visiting our food center on Mondays in August. The Wednesday Food Center Volunteers donated and distributed school supplies on August 10th and 11th. Approximately 120 students were helped with school supplies provided by Good Neighbors and the volunteers. We recently purchased more than $6,000 in dental supplies. We supply our clients with dental supplies along with bar soap, toilet paper and many other items not covered by the SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) card. George Camilletti manages and maintains our food center, annex and central office buildings and property. Open Monday through Thursday from 12:00-3:00 pm. Volunteers George Camilletti, Bill Wise and Paul Iacobucci stocked the food and then worked in the yard before serving clients. The RIGHT Committee donated flowers and volunteers Jenny Siebert and Evelyn Balogh planted them around the food center. Our Wednesday Volunteers donated school supplies. Cuyahoga Falls Good Neighbors Bob Goldstein reported that it has been a busy summer. He had 3 speaking engagements at service clubs over the summer. They had a pizza eating contest as a fundraiser held in downtown Cuyahoga Falls. On Friday, July 15, they had a fundraiser at T he Cafe' of Play . The Workz had a dunk tank at the Cuyahoga Falls Italian Festival with the proceeds going to the Cuyahoga Falls Good Neighbors. Good Neighbors Cuyahoga Falls was the recipient of the Rotary Club of Cuyahoga Falls Community Leadership Award for 2022. "Congratulations! For your entrepreneurial spirit, continuity of good and noble works, ability to adapt your business model, and your high ethical standards make you a worthy recipient of this award. This is only the second time that our Rotary Club is awarding such recognition and we are proud to honor you as our recipient. Good Neighbors, Inc. is an outstanding asset to our community. You, along with your sister locations should celebrate your community successes." Thank you to Alice Beatty and Dolly Bedford for planning the school supply distribution. The distribution was successful and held the weeks of July 25th and August 1st. Book bags were given with food orders during normal drive-thru distribution. Alice Beatty , School Supply Chairperson, reports that over 350 students received grade level book bags filled with school supplies, including a mouse and earbuds. We thank our supporters and The ATA Tools Employees for their generous donation of school supplies. They provide food, clothing and school supplies to residents living in Ellet, Springfield Township, Lakemore and Mogadore. Ellet Good Neighbors new hours of operation. Green Good Neighbors Volunteers Patricia Stiles reported that their back to school distribution will be held the five Wednesdays in August. The parents who are coming for food will be handed a paper to apply for back to school supplies at the same time. For people that donate clothing, we will be changing over to fall clothing in September.
