The Eagles Advance!

Save the date! February 21-22 both Teams 7373 and 11364 will compete in the FTC Georgia State Championship, alongside forty-six other teams. Held at the Cobb Civic Center in Marietta, this event marks the culmination of the hard work of all forty-eight teams in attendance. Friday night will be comprised of pit setup, robot inspection, and judging. Saturday will begin with opening ceremonies at 9:30AM, followed by robot matches, and ending with the awards ceremony. All are welcome to attend! News from the League Tournament

Team 7373 Carbon Fiber

Team 7373 won the Inspire Award at the League Tournament on January 25th. According to FIRST, the Inspire Award is given to the team that is “a top contender for many other judged awards” and “best embodies the “challenge” of the FIRST Tech Challenge program." Team 7373 received the Inspire Award for their strong robot performance, extensive engineering documentation, and continued work to reach out to the community.

Team 11364 Diamond Plate

Through the hard work of Team 11364 in the robot qualifying matches, the semifinals, and the finals, the team will be advancing to the state championship. Team 11364’s robot alliance won the League Tournament robot game, allowing them to advance. The team was excited to have won alongside two incredible alliance partners, who will also be advancing to the state championship as a result of the victory in the robot game.

Team 7373's Robot Performance

Throughout the day, Team 7373’s robot performed well, with only minor robot maintenance required through the qualification matches. The team entered the semifinals as the 1st place seed, earning them a chance to choose their alliance partners. Through the semifinals, the robot performed valiantly, battling through difficulties. Team 7373 ended the day as a semifinalist in the robot game.

Team 11364's Robot Performance

Team 11364 competed well throughout the day, overcoming both technical and mechanical difficulties. After the seeding rounds, the team entered the semifinals in 12th place. Team 11364 was then selected by the 2nd seed team to compete in the semifinals. The alliance battled through the semifinals and advanced to the finals. Together with their alliance, Team 11364 ended the robot matches as a finalist alliance winner!

Cub Scouts

On February 3rd, Eagle Robotics will have the opportunity to host Cub Scouts Pack 2269 for a STEM workshop.Through a series of interactive stations run by members of the robotics teams, the Cub Scouts will be able to learn about topics ranging from hydraulics to binary programming, and electrical systems. Check out our upcoming February newsletter to see pictures and read more about the event!

Implementing Advice from the League Tournament

Team 7373 Carbon Fiber

Team 7373 had a strong showing overall at the League Tournament. However, each member of the team will continue working to improve each aspect of the team in preparation for the state championship. The team will continue to plan outreach events and connect with STEM professionals in the community. Team 7373 will be revising the linear slide system of the robot to reduce the mechanical difficulties experienced by the team in robot matches. Overall, the team hopes to enter the state championship as a competitive contender with  improved outreach, robot design, and engineering documentation.

Team 11364 Diamond Plate

Team 11364 had a strong performance in both the robot game and judging session at the League Tournament. The team will strive, however, to improve each part of their team, including engineering documentation and community outreach. Moving forward, the mechanical aspects of the robot will not be changed to allow for ample driving practice in preparation for state.
