Hello members of Jerome Country Club. It is time for another monthly installment of JCC news. June is here and we are officially in “full swing” at the club. The club operations are busy as ever. The greens crew has done a wonderful job catching the course up after a brutal winter and a not-so nice spring. The pro shop and restaurant have begun their summer hours of operation. Now is the time come out for a round.

The club should be receiving new chairs later in the month. There was a delay in manufacturing our new chairs. As it turns out the company ran short of material because our custom design called for a larger chair than what the manufactures use for their standard specifications. It will be worth the wait to have nice, new, clean, comfortable chairs. The club will be looking to sell off the existing chairs once the new ones are in. You (or anyone you know) can stake your claim on them now. We will be selling them from $30/ piece. First come, first serve. Contact Jack Kulm if you are interested.

I know he isn’t going to like it but I will do it anyway - I would like to give a huge shout out to Gary Cooper. Gary donated material and labor to fix the golf cart path near #4 tees. This was extremely generous and saved the club a decent amount of money. Thanks Coop!

There are a couple of rules and regulations that need to be updated on the website. They will be changed in the next couple of days. If you have any questions pertaining to the rules and regulations, the website will be a good resource going forward. Our bylaws are located on it as well if you need any clarification.

I am still noticing a high amount of unrepaired pitch marks and divots on the greens and fairways. Therefore, I am sending a challenge out to the membership of JCC. I propose that every member take responsibility to fix one extra ball mark and one extra divot on six holes every time they play. To make this easy on you, I have devised a highly systematical approach that will ensure you know which six holes you can help make pristine. Those members whose last names begin with A-G you are responsible for the first 3 holes on each side. Those members whose last names begin H-N you are responsible for the middle 3 holes on each side. And finally, those members whose names begin with O-Z, you are responsible for the final three holes on each side. That is my challenge to you; I know you will accept it!

That wraps it up for this month. I hope you all have an awesome start to your summer!

Cheers
