Meet artist Nikita Budkov and Zara Monet Feeney as they talk about their creative process and demonstrate their individual painting styles. The event will start at the Carnegie Art Museum and end at the CAM Gallery Studio.
Nikita Budkov, whose work is part of the current exhibit The Imaginary – art commingling realism, is a contemporary Russian-America artist whose painting style is based on contemporary realism, and his visual storytelling often includes mythological and ancient symbolic elements. He studied with American Russian artist Leon Okun at the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art (LAAFA) and is now a member of the widely recognized and prestigious California Art Club as well as Assistant to the renowned California plein air artist Peter Adams.
Continue the art experience at the CAM Studio Gallery with Guest Studio Artist Zara Monet Feeney where she will share her existing work, a critique of misogyny, and give you an exclusive preview of the work she is currently working on during her residency. The newer pieces will comment on other political and personal tragedies such as mass violence and the decline of mental health. Feeney will demonstrate how she conveys these ideas in the painted collage of abstract and realistic imagery.
