DAILY HEALTH SCREENER

PVSD expects that all parents complete the Daily Health Screener for each child prior to leaving for school each day and to report any symptoms to the school office. The online screener is mandatory and has been streamlined to only 3 questions.

Second grade farmers market

Our industrious second graders have been busily preparing special items to sell in their virtual Farmer’s Market. You can look at what they have to offer and order through Cheddar Up at https://bit.ly/3oyiCZ1. For those of you who are third grade parents you may find items that your child created last year before our school year was so rudely interrupted by COVID.

The last day to Order is Monday, May 31. The second graders will prepare, pack and deliver all orders to classrooms beginning June 1. For those who purchase larger items, we will schedule a time for pick-up. The second graders have made commercials to help promote their projects - make sure you check them out! I hope that you will take a few minutes to see what they have created. There is some pretty great stuff!!

Follow this link to the virtual store to view the commercials: https://bit.ly/3faSIYe

field Day

Thanks to physical education teacher, Kate Cox, our children will have a Field Day this year! Normally Mr. C plans a big Field Day for all of our students with parent volunteers and a lot of fun and games. Due to COVID restrictions we cannot have a large-scale event but Mrs. Cox has agreed to put together an event that will be attended by each grade level separately with the students participating in various activities within their class cohort.

Field Day for TK, K and 1 will be on: Thursday, June 3

Field Day for Grades 2 and 3 will be on:  Monday, June 7

On Field Day children are encouraged to wear sports attire - a team uniform or jersey or hat or dress in their favorite professional team colors.

Please send your child to school with a water bottle on Field Day and slather them up with sunscreen.  Field Day is always one of the warmest days of the year at Ormondale!

Last Monday Morning Meeting

Please join us for our final Monday Morning Meeting of the year on Monday, June 7 at 8:45 a.m.  The children have a few songs to sing for you and there will be a special performance as well. The Zoom link for this event will be shared closer to the actual date.

Monday, June 7 is also “Miss Denise Day” in honor of our wonderful Office Manager’s impending retirement on June 30.

Turn in Your Device Day(s)

Thursday, June 3, and Friday, June 4

The last day of Distance Learning for on-campus learners will be Wednesday, June 2 so we will begin to collect all school-issued Chromebooks, iPads, and Hot Spots beginning Thursday, June 3.  Your child will return them to their teachers.

Portola Valley Virtual Academy students will return their devices to school on Wednesday, June 9 after 12:00 p.m. or at any time on Thursday, June 10 or Friday, June 11.

Ormondale BIG Spirit Day:  Friday, June 4

Anything goes.  Was Pajama Day your favorite day?  Then come to school in your pajamas.  Was Stuffed Animal Day your favorite?  Then bring your stuffed animal.  Was it Crazy Hair Day?  Dr. Seuss Day?  Hat Day?  Choose your favorite Spirit Day of the year and come to school representing that day.  Did you like them all?  Well, then come that way too!

Last day of school - Wednesday, June 9.

This will be an in-person school day with a minimum day dismissal for on-campus learners.

  • TK/K Dismissal - 11:30 a.m. (no change)

  • Grade 1 Dismissal - 11:45 a.m.

  • Grade 2 Dismissal - 11:55 a.m.

  • Grade 3 Dismissal - after the 3rd Grade “Drive Out”

The Sequoia High Transportation bus will be here at 12:05 to pick up our VTP students.

This is a highlight for our CMS students every year.  Normally this is a whole school sports fair, but due to COVID restrictions, we will be keeping the sports fair separated by grade level, limiting contact events, and spreading it out over the week.
