Thank you to outgoing trustees, Ted Iler and Mike Trinko , for their service and dedication. Recently, Bob Goldstein helped a family in need when Good Neighbors was closed over a weekend. They contacted our main office and stated that they lived in Cuyahoga Falls and were in desperate need of food and pet food, they had no money or transportation. Bob delivered food to them. They thanked him and said how grateful they were for the delivery of food and pet food, and how much his kindness immediately relieved their stress. They said from the bottom of their hearts, they will be forever grateful and indebted to Good Neighbors. Unit Activities Good Neighbors Community Outreach and Food Center Our condolences and sympathy for the families of volunteers and supporters Pat Koch , Jim Callahan , Bill Graham , Robert Henry Menapace and Orlene Makinson. We are grateful to the families and friends of Marjorie B. Fox , Pat Koch , Robert Henry Menapace and Orlene Makinson for their generous memorial donations. Long-time and active volunteer Richard McMasters recently celebrated his 90th birthday. He was born leap year February 29, 1932. Robinson CLC held a food drive to benefit our food center. The Alpha "Krappa" Widow's Group continues to support our food center by donating groceries and making financial contributions. So far this year, the following churches have provided much needed groceries and financial support: Christian Faith Fellowship, Family of Faith United Methodist Church, Firestone Park Christian Church, Grace Baptist Church, Harmony Springs Christian Church, Wedgewood United Methodist Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church. Approximately 2,000 baby diapers, 160 pull-ups, 80 packs of baby wipes and 6 newborn layettes are distributed to the families visiting our food center every month. When possible, we provide the Superior-Wooster Good Neighbors with baby diapers and wipes for their clients. During Thanksgiving and Christmas, more than 300 hams and turkeys were distributed to clients visiting our food center. Thank you to Justin Schoonover for all of his help with the electrical work that he has done in our food center, office and annex. Megan Zimmer and Ruthie Hawks volunteered with their parents over the holidays. Sending prayers and get well wishes to Peggy Zimmer and Cecil Larabee. George Camilletti manages and maintains our food center, office and annex. Our food center hours are Monday through Thursday from 12-3pm. With your support, we will continue with twice weekly distributions, school supply distributions, and a large holiday distribution. Thank you." On behalf of Good Neighbors, our sincere condolences to Dolly and the family of Neil Bedford . Neil was a long-time active and dedicated volunteer. Cuyahoga Falls Good Neighbors drive thru hours are every Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Please arrive by 1:45 PM and have lots of room in your vehicle. We distribute fresh produce, fresh fruit, frozen meats and fish, canned goods, baked goods, clothing, shoes, hygiene items, cleaning supplies, baby supplies, and school supplies to those in need. No referral or appointment is necessary. For our clients with limited English proficiency we have a translation service available on site. We also offer a real time video sign language service. Our school supply distribution will be held on July 26th and 28th, August 2nd and 4th. Please call Chris at 330-784-7088 to make an appointment. The volunteers have been busy cleaning, sorting, organizing and replenishing their food. When possible gift cards are provided to their clients for gasoline, prescriptions and groceries. They are always in need of gift cards, groceries and monetary donations. Happy Birthday to Ella Krinjeck who recently celebrated her 94th Birthday. Ella volunteered for more than 50 years for Good Neighbors and helped open the Ellet Good Neighbors Unit in 1968. Green Good Neighbors Patricia Stiles reported that they are saving soft clean plastic like grocery bags, the soft plastic around plastic bottles, and soft plastic packaging around paper towels, etc. "We all use plastic grocery bags but if you find ripped ones, we can use them. We are going to get a bench made out of the plastic. We need enough plastic by the end of August to make our bench. If anyone else will save plastic for us, we would appreciate it!"
