Centralised Info on Corona

Tipperary County Council yesterday (Thursday 26th, March) launched a central hub in response to the threat from CoVid19. The page provides information, maps and resources about the coronavirus response locally and nationally.
The page includes up-to-date information on Irish and Worldwide statistics in relation to CoVid19, with an interactive map showing break down of cases in County Tipperary. Presently cases in Tipperary represent just 2% of the national average.

The new Business Continuity Voucher, available through Local Enterprise Offices, is worth up to €2,500 in third party consultancy costs and can be used for strategy development to respond to Covid19.

Tipperary Tourism Support Micro Enterprise

Tipperary Tourism has created a dedicated webpage for tourism industry providers with a range of supports from Failte Ireland, Department of Employment Affairs and Department of Business and in particular, MicroFinance Ireland.

MicroFinance Ireland loans are being promoted as a key support for micro-enterprises.The maximum loan available from MicroFinance Ireland will be increased from €25,000 to €50,000 as an immediate measure to specifically deal with the impacts of COVID – 19 on micro-enterprises  Applications can be made through the MFI website https://microfinanceireland.ie​/ or through the local LEO. Loans are repayable over 3 years.

All Sector Competitive Start Fund 

This Competitive Start Fund (CSF) aims to support early stage start-ups. The fund is open to early stage companies in manufacturing and internationally traded services.

All applications to the fund must be made via the Enterprise Ireland Online Application System. The call for applications opened on 24th March for a 3-week period and will close on 14th April 2020 at 3pm.

"Not All Heroes Wear Capes"

Postal Delivery staff will check-in on or older/vulnerable customers along their postal routes across the country starting March 30th.

Postmen and postwomen across the country will call into the front doors of older and vulnerable customers along their delivery route, particularly those who are living alone in isolated areas. They will check on their well-being by way of a set of standard questions and any requests for provisions or medicines will be relayed directly back to the local HSE team.

Wage Subsidy Scheme for Employers

On Tuesday,  24 March the Government announced new measures to provide financial support to workers affected by the Covid-19 crisis. As part of these measures, Revenue will operate a Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme. The scheme, enables employees, whose employers are affected by the pandemic, to receive significant supports directly from their employer through the payroll system. The scheme is expected to last 12 weeks from 26 March 2020
