Want some?

Saving money on your Home Insurance can be great fun.

Okay – it’s not exactly bungee-jumping or sky-diving. But it can be the sort of fun that comes with 36% savings savings in year 1. That’s a big trip to IKEA sort-of-fun. A meal in your local restaurant and more nights out with your pals.

This is the sort of craic that comes with four months free home insurance. Yep - that’s 36% off your first year’s home insurance bill when you pay by direct debit or with your EBS mortgage.

Chambers Ireland welcomes Formal Agreement of €300 million Brexit Loan Scheme

Commenting on today’s (22 January 2018) announcement of a formal agreement on the leveraging of a total of €300m for the Brexit Loan Scheme for Irish businesses,

Chambers Ireland Chief Executive Ian Talbot said,

"We welcome today’s formal agreement, which aligns with our consistent recommendations for state-guaranteed supports for Irish businesses to diversify into new markets. Indeed, this was one of our central recommendations in our Pre-Budget Submission 2018 last year, which called for an Export Working Capital Scheme to help SMEs meet the challenges arising from Brexit.

"The Loan Scheme is a clear commitment and a positive step by Government to help Irish businesses prepare for the unique issues facing them in light of Brexit. We also urge businesses to engage with these opportunities. The responses from Irish businesses in last year’s EUROCHAMBRES survey identified Brexit as their number one challenge. While challenges remain, opportunities such as today’s announcement and the ratification of last year’s EU-Japan trade agreement are beginning to manifest.”

CSR for SMEs Guide

Chambers Ireland is delighted to have published a CSR for SMEs Guide, which we will be distributing free of charge to the network this week. The guide outlines the benefits of CSR and ways that SMEs can engage, including the offer of one-on-one meetings with CSR experts from Chambers Ireland's Policy Council at a location convenient to them, and free of charge. This is an excellent opportunity for an SME to develop a plan for CSR in their company with the help of an expert.

We have posted 10 of these guides to each Chamber and a PDF version is also available on this website:

Chambers Ireland welcomes Report on the Cost of Employer & Public Liability Insurance

Commenting on today’s (25 January 2018) publication of the Cost of Insurance Working Group’s Report on the Cost of Employer and Public Liability Insurance,

Chambers Ireland Chief Executive Ian Talbot said,

“We welcome the recommendations of the Cost of Employer & Public Liability Insurance Report published today. Businesses need to see progress on the reducing cost of insurance as soon as possible.

This is an urgent matter for Irish businesses of all sizes and across all sectors as the cost of insurance has a substantial impact on competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.

Brexit means that businesses are facing significant uncertainty and new challenges. Government needs to seriously address the high cost of doing business in order to support our companies and entrepreneurs through this difficult period, and the cost of insurance has to be a priority.”
