Make America Kind Again.

Happy Valentine Day Star Gazers. This picture of two little girls journeying down a backroad, locked arms and  appearing to connect two hearts in lock step, even if their opinions differ.

This shouts to me where I want to go in a politically hot world. It is where we must walk if we are to heal our nations, our neighborhoods, and our families by making America kind again.

A January wedding gave a new perspective on the depth and difference of casual love and covenant love , two words I rarely connected. A contract is an agreement, deed or written oath we make between people in our humanity,  but a true covenant appears to be much deeper than a contract of words . A covenant is the deeper blending of hearts sealed by God in prayer which enables us humans, in our earth suits to complete. It is seen in marriages that continue to grow and build relationship, praying parents passing values to the next generation , first responders risking their  safety for others , and a military willing to die for their country in foreign lands preserving freedom. Covenant love stands when tested.

What I am proposing to heal our nation is not to fold against the opposition, but to choose kindness in our words , our tone, and our countenance. Kinder leaves four letter words and personal attacks reworded, or simply deleted or unsaid. We are going for THE WIN which is healing this country, our community and our nation.

Your board is super excited about our Gubernatorial political forum February 15 at 5:30 p.m. at Quail Point and hope all of you RSVP and claim your seat and practice COVENANT KINDNESS . Invite your friends and those difficult ones who have ghosted you!! Meet the candidates and go to dinner….together. Your board hopes to see you there!!

Stay in His Grip.

 Red Shoe Book Club

To Meet March 8

Picture

Star Republican Women's Red Shoe Book Club will meet March 8 from 4 - 6 p.m. to discuss the book "The Rose Code," by Kate Quinn. The location of the book review will be announced soon.

SRW Literacy Committee Chairman Kathy Hussey will lead the discussion about the book. Even if you haven't read the book, you can attend and enjoy the conversation about the book and other topics of interest to the group.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

The New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Huntress and The Alice Network returns with another heart-stopping World War II story of three female code breakers at Bletchley Park and the spy they must root out after the war is over.

1940. As England prepares to fight the Nazis, three very different women answer the call to mysterious country estate Bletchley Park, where the best minds in Britain train to break German military codes. Vivacious debutante Osla is the girl who has everything—beauty, wealth, and the dashing Prince Philip of Greece sending her roses—but she burns to prove herself as more than a society girl, and puts her fluent German to use as a translator of decoded enemy secrets. Imperious self-made Mab, product of east-end London poverty, works the legendary codebreaking machines as she conceals old wounds and looks for a socially advantageous husband. Both Osla and Mab are quick to see the potential in local village spinster Beth, whose shyness conceals a brilliant facility with puzzles, and soon Beth spreads her wings as one of the Park’s few female cryptanalysts. But war, loss, and the impossible pressure of secrecy will tear the three apart.

1947. As the royal wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip whips post-war Britain into a fever, three friends-turned-enemies are reunited by a mysterious encrypted letter--the key to which lies buried in the long-ago betrayal that destroyed their friendship and left one of them confined to an asylum. A mysterious traitor has emerged from the shadows of their Bletchley Park past, and now Osla, Mab, and Beth must resurrect their old alliance and crack one last code together. But each petal they remove from the rose code brings danger--and their true enemy--closer...
