Boulder teens can be changemakers while earning community service credit, a $10 gift card, and the opportunity to win tickets to a CU basketball game!
Background: Boulder's Child Friendly Cities Initiative (CFCI) is an effort to improve the well-being of children and youth in Boulder. So far, we've heard from nearly 900 children, teens, caregivers, and people who work with kids, and 75% of these participants identify as BIPOC, living with low incomes, experiencing disabilities, immigrants, and LGBTQ+. At the same time, we’ve pulled together government data on child and youth well-being to complement the qualitative data from our community.
We now want to share this information with your organization and teens (grades 6-12), so teens can create a City Youth Action Plan. This plan will help us continue to make Boulder a better place for our young people.
Teens, representatives of youth-serving organizations, and parents from underrepresented groups are invited to our Youth Action Plan Workshop on Monday, September 30th, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. (Note: this is a non-school day for BVSD students, and we encourage youth programs to use their vans to bring groups of youth to the site). During this first workshop, we will discuss what the data tells us about how Boulder’s young people are doing, and we'll begin to brainstorm ways to make positive change.
Please RSVP here by Friday, September 13th.
Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you on September 30th!
