As I sit back and reflect on the last 12 months, it is hard to feel anything other than gratitude. There were several weeks this year that I did not know if I would make it to the next. More than a handful of nights spent worrying about payroll, bills and dreaming of the future. Our focus in these months has been on survival. Opening this clinic occurred in response to an unexpected situation. It was unplanned, underfunded and a risk at best. I am so incredibly grateful for the team of providers and support staff that have all been so flexible as we have created and are attempting to perfect the processes, policies and procedures that will keep our foundation strong and our work ethical and evidenced based. I especially want to thank our patients. Many of my clients have been with me for over 5 years now, several moves, multiple record and billing system changes and a lot of scheduling changes and emergencies this year as we have been piecing things together. In the next year, we are focusing on thriving and moving past surviving. At years closing, we reflect on the finances, the procedures and more importantly, how we can better serve the needs of the Anchorage Community. I owe everyone reading this a huge thank you for believing in us, donating to us and choosing us to provide care and join you on your journey to wellness. May we all find wellness, peace and equality this year.
