foundation news
This is the LAST WEEK of the Annual Campaign!
5% of the Portola Valley School District’s annual operating budget is filled by the Annual Campaign. These funds help secure our learning specialists, smaller class sizes, and our ability to attract and retain excellent teachers for Ormondale and Corte Madera.
Our fantastic volunteers will be making phone calls, sending emails and cheering at the schools all week, reminding you to get in those gifts and pledges! EVERY GIFT COUNTS!
We are seeing tremendous generosity from our community this year, and have reached 40% participation, but we are still far from our twin goals of 100% participation and $1M raised.
Location: Books, Inc. and Gott’s Roadside, 855 El Camino Real, Palo Alto
Get some holiday shopping done while supporting our schools AND one of our local independent bookstores! Between 5-8 pm on Tuesday, November 16 Books, Inc. in Palo Alto will donate a percentage of sales back to our schools.
Work up an appetite while shopping or want to take a night off cooking? Head over to Gott’s next door to pick up dinner for the family. Gott’s will donate 10% of the total sales, including dine in, take out, online, phone and delivery orders, to our schools (no need to mention event at time of order). Hope to see you there!
PTO FUNDRAISERS
Please consider enrolling in the following programs to benefit our PTO.
Christmas Tree and Wreath Fundraising Program
Mention Corte Madera or Ormondale when you purchase your tree and/or wreath at Honey Bear Trees and our schools will receive 15% of the purchase price.
Honey Bear trees are of the finest quality and freshness, grown on the Cocco Christmas Tree Farm in Oregon’s beautiful Cascade foothills. Here’s a great opportunity to find the perfect Christmas Tree and support our schools at the same time!

SHUTTERFLY FUNDRAISER PROGRAM

The PTO is so grateful for the volunteers that drive our programs. We know it’s a lot to juggle another responsibility along with all that you are doing.

Also, THANK YOU to Brittany Zilka for organizing the Art to Remember program this year.

Successful Second Harvest Food Bank Donation Drive

With your help we surpassed our goal with over $7,000 raised which will provide more than 14,000 meals for families in need. We’d like to give special recognition to our active Second Graders who led the way with their “Moving for Meals” fundraiser last week. Great job Second Grade!
