The Madrona House Apothecary + Healing Arts space has been a dream and being in community with you all has changed my heart forever. From all of us at the Madrona House, we offer our gratitude for your support over the years and will miss seeing you all face to face. One of the things I will miss most is the unexplainable joy I felt every time I got to see a giant pile of shoes right before a class was about to start. Although we will be closing our physical location, the Madrona House will live on virtually as many of our practitioners and teachers continue offering services and classes online. Our hope is to re-open at a new location in the future as a newly structured, community led space for gathering, learning, and healing. As ever, we will remain rooted in centering self-care + community-care as tools for resilience and connection in unsettling settler colonialism. As we enter into harvest season, we are pausing to reflect on all that we have gained and all that we will sacrifice. We’ve chosen to take some time to process, grieve, and allow the fertile soil to rest before planting something anew. Vanessa's new patreon page Now that we can't gather in groups anymore, I'm trying to re-imagine how to engage with community in meaningful ways that are still sustainable for me. My hope for this project is to have my basic needs met so I can focus less on the hustle and more on sharing medicine and ritual on a public platform to support others in healing and reconnecting to land based practices. I've created a Patreon page with a few tiers and some really sweet offerings including monthly content around plant medicine, healing, energetic hygiene and non-appropriative spiritual practices, a monthly self-care ritual + distance healing over Zoom, and a monthly shipment of seasonally relevant, lovingly handmade plant medicine.
