'What an honour it is for us at Horan Automation to have won the “Outstanding Small Business” of the year award 2019! From our small beginnings here in Drangan we are punching well above our weight in the manufacturing industry in Ireland and abroad. We are now working not only with SMEs but with multi nationals in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The SFA award is probably the most recognised for business in Ireland and we are completely overwhelmed. It is a testament to our small team which encompasses all local staff from Drangan, Moyglass, Mullinahone and Ballynonty and we hope to grow our automation and robotics business considerably in 2019. We are proud to showcase the local Tipperary talent we have in engineering, design, programming, sales, marketing and finance and we are delighted to in turn bring employment and re-investment to the local area. We would not be here without the help of our local sub-contractors, staff and customers. The past year has been an amazing journey for us having won three national and one local award which really demonstrates our quality products and attentive service. We are so proud of our team and would like to take this opportunity to thank them as well as our amazing customers. Tipperary is an amazing county to do business in and it just goes to show that if we can trade from our base in Drangan on an international stage, anybody can. Many years of hard work and dedication has gone into this company by Gerry and Kathleen Horan and I would just like to thank them for their faith and trust in me and the rest of our team. Without a close team we could not have reached this success.' Emma Lacy, Commercial Director of Horan Automation Successful evening at Tipperary Connecting for Growth EXPO in Clonmel Park Hotel Another year of the Annual Expo in Clonmel, saw over 35 local business attend a networking event in the Clonmel Park Hotel last Thursday 28th of February. The event was very successful with both businesses and members of the public in attendance. We greatly look forward to running the event again in the future as it is a great networking opportunity for the fantastic local business here in Tipperary. *BREXIT UPDATE FROM CHAMBERS IRELAND* No Deal Scenario Chambers Ireland recently received an update from the UK regarding a meeting held with HMRC on Wednesday. They were informed that at present UK HMRC do not require Certs of Origin for goods arriving in the UK coming from third countries and are therefore not likely to require Irish goods arriving in the UK post Brexit/no-deal to be accompanied by a Cert of Origin. They are informed also that in the event of a no-deal, client companies in the UK may request a Cert depending on their individual needs (re-exporting etc). This applies vice versa. Irish companies whose supply chain contains UK components may also need to apply for a Certs - this will depend on the needs of and requirements in the country of destination. In addition, companies using a Documentary Letter of Credit to finance shipments may be requested by the relevant bank to obtain a Certificate of Origin too. Should your members have questions about whether or not they will need a Cert of Origin, we advise that they examine their supply chain, check the requirements of destination third countries and also speak to their client/importer as to their own requirements. Withdrawal Agreement Scenario The status quo will continue as normal for the duration of the transition agreement Future Trade Deal In the event of a trade agreement between the UK and EU in the future, preferential movement certificates will likely be required but in Ireland, these documents are issued by Revenue, not Chambers. Brexit Resources Chambers Ireland are frequently updating their website with all the latest news and resources.
