Congratulation to our ITAT students on their tremendous accomplishment of implementing the anti smoking and vaping signage on Nebo School Districts school buses. Along with Outrage students, our ITAT students gathered this month to apply their signs to every single bus used in the Nebo School District. Although the weather was hot, our students enthusiasm for their project was even hotter. This was a great collaborative event with Outrage (Utah County youth advocacy group), ITAT students and advisors, and Nebo School District transportation personnel. Our students applied the signs to over 210 buses this month, and it was amazing to see their persistence in bringing this idea come to fruition. This initiative was very important to our youth and they are even more motivated to bring this project to more school districts across Utah County. We are so proud of our ITAT students for their hard work. All they need to do is text "Start My Quit" 855-891-9989 to talk or text with a quit coach to cheer them on in their journey of quitting! The use of e-cigarettes is unsafe for kids, teens, and young adults. Most e-cigarettes contain nicotine. Nicotine is highly addictive and can harm adolescent brain development, which continues into the early to mid-20s. 1 E-cigarettes can contain other harmful substances besides nicotine. Young people who use e-cigarettes may be more likely to smoke cigarettes in the future.
