Sara Garrett to Speak April 19

Picture

Founder and CEO of the Phoenix Center, Sarah Rosen Garrett will speak at the April 19 meeting of Star Republican Women at Quail Point Community Center in Horseshoe Bay.

The program will begin at 1 p.m., following a complimentary lunch that starts at 12:30 p.m.

Sarah Garrett's passion for providing exemplary mental health care for all children and families led her to create Camp Phoenix and the Phoenix Center in 2007.

Upon moving to the Texas Hill Country in 2005, Sarah first worked as a CASA volunteer, and recognized the need for high-quality, affordable mental health care in rural Central Texas, as well as parenting supporting and classes.  She drew upon her experience as a Registered Play Therapist and licensed psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience with children and families.

Since its startup in 2007, the Phoenix Center has expanded its services as well as its facilities.  It is set to open its new facility on a 77-acre site in Marble Falls just off Hwy 71 and will provide expanded programs to greatly enhance the lives of those it serves.

Star Republican Women recently donated art supplies for Phoenix Center counseling programs.  We think you will find  Sarah's presentation very enlightening particularly in light of April being National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Sarah began her career as a special education teacher with Teach for America and was twice awarded Teacher of the Year.  In addition to her play therapy specialized training, Sarah is trained in crisis and suicide intervention, and the treatment of trauma, including witnessing a traumatic death, and child abuse, neglect and sexual assault.

Make America Rational Again.

Picture

April is definitely my favorite month in the Hill Country as bluebonnets begin to line the highways with bursts of blue stalks of the State flower. This April has been declared a new beginning month as we celebrate our new Star Republican Members this third Tuesday of the month with an after meeting meet and greet. Hope to see you, at Quail Point.

Last month brought a girls shopping trip to Fredericksburg with my granddaughter and a personal wake up CALL  for me. Audrey, my twelve year old granddaughter, brought over a shirt for me she thought I would like.  At first glance, I thought it was the typical red and white Trump shirt that said Make America Great Again. On second glance, I realized that bright red shirt actually said Make America Rational Again.

What exactly does a passionate Rational Republican look like in todays changing world? The shirt drove me crazy draped over a chair in my study as I tried to wrap my head around the message but not lose the mission. How do we wake up our fellow citizens to the rise of corruption and the erosion of so many of American institutes into Socialist mindset  as a Rational Republican?

First, I think you need to study the big picture. Research the Georgia GuideStones erected in 1980 in United States and the dark agenda engraved in eight languages reflecting the ideals of the New World Order.  Next, research Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum out of Davos and our own Federal Reserve, which is not a reserve or federal, but rather a private company. Lastly, observe that the Department of Homeland Security is bracing for 18,000 migrants per day if Title 42 is lifted this month by Biden Administration. (I probably don’t need to remind you Texas is a border state.) Finally, know that just recently Biden Administration failed to forward a plan for offshore prospective oil and gas lease expiring in June. Now take a rational breath and fill up your car.

Our country seems to be spirally downward and it is overwhelming. Trans Sports, non-gender pronouns, CRT, transitioning teenagers, hormone manipulation, sex change surgery and x passports and birth certificates are being presented as the norm when normal only seems to be on the dryer.

While voting Republican and staying informed are important, neither can keep you a Rational Republican. Rational Republicans are made in the prayer room on their knees in the full Amour of God. We can only stay Rational when we are prayed up knowing that government is on His shoulders. I can only look Rational when I trust God and do the next thing!  Passover and Easter declares the plans of God and until it is finished it looks hopeless. Rationally, neither Passover blood on the door jams or empty grave  make sense but  only to believers who trust God.

Rational Republicans trust God, pray for their leaders, and display His goodness. Let’s make America Rational Again by staying in prayer . Stay in His Grip.
