At the start of this new year, we think back to a decade ago, when The Finney Foundation was created as a charitable organization to make official what we'd already been doing for years.  2023 was filled with an abundance of blessings when resources seemed low! God always makes a way! Thank you for your continued support of our efforts to help our communities. The highlights below are a small section of souls we've encountered this past year, and with your support, were able to assist. This year, and through the next 10 years, we continue our dedication to this work!​ Thank you and Happy New Year!

Lending a hand: Toiletry and snack bags are always welcomed and needed. Thank you for supporting these important tools in helping address our growing homeless population.

Food Lion Food boxes: The Historic People's Community Church in Detroit, MI received Food Lion Food boxes to support the Monday Feeding Program, which has grown to them feeding hundreds of souls each week.

Keeping Souls Warm:  Boxes of new hats, scarves, gloves and socks were distributed to People's Community Church and the Eleanor Kennedy Shelter For The Homeless. Thank you to both partners in reaching the homeless in need.

Food and Water Donations: Through monetary and non-perishable donations, we've made weekly drops at food pantries in and around the D.C. area, through our partners at The Journey Church Food Pantry, Path Forward Homeless Services, Arlington Food Assis. Center, and Columbia Community Center of 7th Day Adventists, as well as Peoples Community Church Monday Feeding Program in Detroit, MI.

Deserving Mom's Gifted: Our annual partnership with A Woman's Journey was a success this year during the Mother's Day Project! Organized and created by AWJ President Carol Cole Harris, beautiful gift bags were given to women that reside at the Nashville, TN Rescue Mission. Nashville's Local 2 News covered the event!

Back to School Made Better: Students in Detroit, MI, Richmond, VA, and Fayette County, MS sent thanks for the school supplies, donated to ensure they went back to school well prepared!

Clothing Drive:  Second Hand Clothing Day was the perfect time for you to clean out your closet and for us to bless someone who maybe in need of those old jeans you haven't worn in years! Clothes were collected and donated to Fairfax County, VA students and the Central Union Mission's Comprehensive Family Resource Center Clothing Closet in Washington, DC.

Operation Christmas: 

The Finney Foundation donates shoe boxes full of gifts to Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas each year to help ensure children across the world have a blessed Christmas!
