SCHOOL IS STARTING IN TIJUANA AUGUST 24TH!!  The kids will have distance (on-line) learning for three weeks and on September 21^st, classroom attendance will resume for all grades.  This is according to the official Secretary of Education calendar for Baja California!

The Grace of Calvary Ministries Tijuana School Program KICK-OFF is TODAY!  I waited until we had official confirmation that school is starting with in-person classes.  On-line learning is extremely difficult in an area where most families do not have internet or computers in the home.  Most that I have talked to are trying to do their school work by way of the application,, WhatsApp, on their mother’s cell phone.  Can you imagine having five kids doing their homework on your cell phone?  Many people do not even have the needed internet service to do this and kids are falling even more behind!  By God’s grace, we now have three (click link) HOMEWORK CLUBS helping 30 kids get caught up!

These kids might not be able to attend school without your help!  It is very common for children to drop out of elementary school if their parents don’t receive help due to the extremely low household incomes (less than
$10 minimum PER DAY wage).  All schools require uniforms, proper shoes and school supplies to attend.  The backpack is more important to the kids than a Christmas present.  It is a privilege for them to attend school!

THE PLAN:
Today marks the FOURTEENTH (14^TH) year of the GOCM Tijuana School Program!!!  Through donors like you, we have been able to provide 400 backpacks and 100 school uniforms to the kids who attend our church and our three lunch programs in the surrounding neighborhoods. 

HOW CAN YOU HELP? 

We need your help to purchase backpacks, supplies, uniforms and shoes in Mexico so that we can get the kids ready for school before September 21.  Here is how you can help change lives:

1. Any gift of $35 to $50 for a backpack and supplies.  The price of the filled backpack depends on the grade level of the child.
2. Any gift from $120 to $500 to sponsor a child that will receive a complete package of uniform, shoes and school supplies.  Also, if you would like to sponsor a bible college student from our church, the cost is $850 per semester including room and board at CCBC Mexico!
3.  NEW, sturdy backpacks, school supplies and NEW tennis shoes for all ages.  Contact me for a drop-off location.  If you can personally bring backpacks and supplies to Mexico that would be even better!   

NOTE: It has become increasingly hard to bring items to Mexico as the government wants products purchased within Mexico to bring income to their country.  They confiscate or tax any shipments that are more than a personal use amount.  We are thankful for all of you who provided filled backpacks in the past and we can still use these items, and are grateful for them, but the timeframe to cross them into Mexico has increased greatly!

Please help us to grow godly leaders who know God and have a decent education!  We are seeing kids we helped in 2007 graduate from high school!  This year we had FOUR high school graduates and TWO Bible college graduates from our church!
