Save the Date! On January 26, 2019, Eagle Robotics and Mount Paran Christian School will be hosting and competing in the FIRST Tech Challenge Northern Georgia League Tournament. FTC teams will participate in a robot competition, judging interview, and present their engineering notebooks. Every team present at the tournament will be vying for a spot in the Georgia State Championship. Mount Paran and the Eagle Robotics program are proud to host 35 other teams as they attempt to earn a spot in the state championship. Coincident with this event, a Mission Moon FIRST LEGO League Jr. Expo will be held from 8:30-9:30 AM. Mount Paran’s FIRST LEGO League teams will also be demonstrating their projects at this event! It will be a very exciting time to see robots in action as all the students’ hard work comes together!

We Need YOUR Help At This League Tournament!

Picture

In order for the League Tournament to happen, we need your help! FIRST Tech Challenge and the Etowah League exist entirely on volunteer support. Without it, the league simply will not exist. Some volunteer roles are technical in nature, others are not. Most volunteer roles require online registration and online training. A volunteer role can be filled by anyone willing to learn what to do. It can be a parent, relative or sponsor. Please take a few minutes and click here to find out what is needed to volunteer. It does take some time to process and train volunteers, so don’t delay signing up! Thank you for your support!

Team 7373's Robot Status

Team 7373’s robot now uses Google's TensorFlow software with a smart phone’s camera rather than color sensors to check the coloration of the minerals in autonomous. The intake system is nearly complete, and a few other minor changes are being made. They have also been working very hard to ensure that their work is properly documented in an Engineering Notebook.

Team 11364's Robot Status

As Team 11364 continues to prepare for the upcoming League Tournament, they are developing an intake system. They have also been working toward more intelligent programming with the use of mathematics. Beyond this, Team 11364 has worked hard on progressing their engineering notebook and ensuring they have fully documented their hardware, electrical, and software systems.

Results from Meets 5

In Meet 5, Team 7373 moved from rank 5th to 4th in the league after a high-scoring win at the end of the event. Team 11364 managed to hold their top rank in the league. Both teams’ robots performed well, and both teams are in good standing moving into the League Tournament on January 26th!

THANK YOU to all of our sponsors for giving us the ability to host this League Tournament! We could not do it without your support!
