Company of the Week -  Metis Ireland

Chamber member, Metis Ireland, a financial services provider, not only responded to the challenge of Covid19 but rose above it.

The company doors might be closed to the public but its still business as usual with the company doing consultations on Zoom for clients who want that "Face to Face" contact.

Another great initiative by the financial firm was the launch of a fortnightly coffee morning for business owners to air their ideas. To date they have run three sessions covering themes such as "Physical and Mental Fitness for Running a Business".

The virtual coffee mornings take place every second Friday morning at 11am for up to an hour and to join contact Metis Ireland staff who will send you a link.

Local Business is a Charity Champion

Clonmel based business owner, Ian Purcell, of IP Physical Therapy & Coaching https://www.ipphysicaltherapy.com/ has smashed a €10,000 target to raise funds for frontline staff at Crumlin Childrens Hospital. 

The inspirational business owner, together with chairman of Clonmel Triathlon Club, Kevin Ryan, united to do an indoor Ironman Challenge for the Childrens Medical &Research Foundation on 3rd May.

Support for the fundraiser is still open with the pair nearly doubling the original target. The indoor Ironman challenge was in response to an urgent appeal for funds due to the Coronavirus crisis.

Clonmel Powering Up the Nation

Clonmel has been selected as one of eight sites nationwide to participate in the Governments first phase of solar energy providers. 

The joint Danish-Irish venture would see solar panels at Horsepasture, Clonmel as part of renewable energy plans.

Over 200 jobs could be created across the eight counties, including Tipperary by owner, Shannon Energy powered by Obtron.

The starting phase represents an investment of €60 million in the project with plans to expand that to €300 million over the next five years.

Business Giving Something Back

Discount retailer, Dealz, with two shops in Clonmel is this week donating to nursing homes in the Clonmel area. They will match all items of confectionary purchased by shoppers.

The company, previously, did a similar charity campaign for the HSE and Gardai at Easter time. Both the business and charity benefit from the generous gesture.
