Gail Varney We at Franklin Gear are honored to receive our first piece of donated equipment in Gail's memory - a Juki DDL-8700 Industrial Sewing Machine! Gail was a talented craftsperson who once worked as a professional seamstress. Very supportive of others wishing to express their creativity, Gail would love the idea of her sewing machine being used in a makerspace. A heartfelt thank you goes to the Varney Family! We'd also like to thank Gail's good friend Terry Ohlson-Martin. Terry arranged for the donation and delivered it to us here in Franklin! See! It is 501c3 actually; we are just excited about it! This is what every non profit wants - and needs! Having 501c3 status with the IRS makes us a tax exempt non profit, and that status benefits donors. You can now make a contribution to us and write it off on your taxes (IRC Section 170)!!! It makes receiving grants much easier to! Not every letter from the IRS is bad! If you've mastered your own social media you won't have a problem. Our social media is primarily Facebook & Instagram, but if you want to Tik Tok be our guest! The people helping us now also have major parts in other aspects of the organization, so our social outreach suffers. Like the idea, but don't want to do it all, no problem! We can put people together or you can get a friend or two and run it as a team! We'll give you the plan and some content, but don't be afraid to have ideas! Though optional, if the team has one or two who like producing videos that would be awesome! Don't want to be in front of the camera? We can be that for you! We just don't have the time, or skills, to edit appropriately..
